Riverain has 3 ensuite bedrooms and is also accorded 'Families Welcome' and 'Pets Welcome' status by Visit England which means we provide additional facilities, equipment and information for our guests travelling with their children and their dogs. Riverain's gated and walled off road large garden and the grounds of Blencowe Hall have plenty of space to enjoy being outside!

A stunning conversion of a coach house dating back to the 1700s gives Riverain its welcoming double height oak floored reception room with floor to ceiling arched windows. The massive sandstone fireplace is a focal point for cool Cumbrian evenings and a generous supply of logs as well as underfloor heating ensure guest comfort and relaxation.

Riverain’s private garden and parking area are set on the South facing side of Blencowe and have amazing views over the hills towards Mell Fell in the Lake District. Riverain is located about 7 miles from Lake Ullswater and has lots of great walks and runs in the local area.

It has three ensuite bedrooms two of which can be divided into twin bed configurations depending on guest preference. The well equipped breakfasting kitchen will delight the chefs and the rest will enjoy relaxing in front of the open fire. Riverain has a ground floor bedroom with an ensuite shower room.

Broadband wifi, a Weber BBQ, equipment & locally sourced charcoal, logs, kindling & firelighters and a generous welcome hamper are all provided for our guests.

If Riverain is already reserved, please look at our sister cottages, Wythburn Cottage and Stag Cottage which offer very similar accommodation and may well be available.

Riverain is located a short drive from Penrith train station which is on the West Coast Main Line, the railway linking London to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh & Glasgow. The nearby villages offer wonderful walks and cycle rides with beautiful scenery. Ullswater ‘Steamers’ is an award winning environmentally accredited Lake District attraction celebrating over 150 years of operating cruises on England’s most beautiful lake. Operating one of the largest heritage vessel fleets in the world, offering visitors an experience they will never forget for 363 days a year. Cruises connect to some of the most famous and iconic walking routes in the National Park, with views of Wordsworth's Daffodils on the west shore in Spring.

Around 2 weeks prior to arrival guests will receive a pre-arrival message which includes details regarding key collection. We also send our guests local information about 'what's on' in the area during their stay. Guests have sole occupancy of the property during their stay and our Manager is available by telephone at all times.
