“waouw” As we were entering the house, an armadillo came to welcome us. And we were told that we had just missed a whale swimming in the bay. Atmosphere was set up. Great secluded house. Amazing views and beach. Perfect for contemplation. Very good value for money.

“Absolutely fantastic” We were a family of 8 travelling from Canada... 4 daughters aged 12 to 23, son-in-law and boyfriend, plus my wife and I. Everything about the trip was fantastic. The listing was not accurate...because the pictures don't do it justice! Unbelievable size, layout, comfort, etc. and what a view. The monkeys came by most days and the weather was perfect. Absolutely perfect. We were very comfortable with 8 people ...and there was room for more. Alex is excellent in his organizing of all our activities. We tried the horse back riding, repelling, national park tour and catamaran sail. All highly recommended. He organizes for pick up and drop off at the front door. Local restaurants were excellent too. Although cab drivers told us the walk to the beach was either "too long or too dangerous (due to traffic)", we walked it every day without problem. It was a great way to get some exercise after spending a day at the beach. Another thing alex did was organize an on-site meal provided by a local chef (Kukula?). It was one of the best meals we have ever had, and we do a lot of travelling. We didn't rent a car, as the local grocery store was within walking distance, as were the restaurants, and we didn't mind the 20 minute walk to the beach. We flew to San Jose, and alex organized the 2 1/2 trip for pick up and drop off at the end of the stay. The house was cleaned every day (we didn't realize that), and there are laundry facilities on site. We definitely over-packed. This is a flip flop and short/swim suit vacation. We didn't need to wear a sweater at any time during our stay. We will go back and I recommend this for families, couples, etc. The only caution I would have is for those with small children. The building code is no where near the restrictions that we have in Canada, and as such, the area around the main floor, infinity pool and stairs may be a safety hazard for small children. For adults, it adds to the beauty of this spectacular place! A+++

“Great Value!” We stayed at La Nina for a month from mid-January to mid-February. It is within a gated property, making it very secure. The cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen with all the utensils and appliances one needs to make meals. The appliances are fully functioning and sparkling clean. As a matter of fact, we made many dinners 'at home' because fresh fruits, veggies, meat and seafood are readily available from the supermarket only a few minutes from the cottage. The weekend farmers' market is not to be missed for those who love to cook. There is a small selection of dvds in the cottage. Bring your own and relax in the evenings with a beer or two, or a bottle of wine. You can also play music from your own device and enjoy! Although the daytime temperatures were higher than normal while we were there, the four ceiling fans kept the place cool and comfortable. If you really need to cool off, the swimming pool is the pièce de résistance! There is plenty of storage space in the bedroom. The ensuite bathroom is spacious. Alicia, the housekeeper, comes three times a week to clean and refresh towels and bed linens. Maxwell and Sascha, Pete's canine ambassadors, will always remind you of their presence albeit in the most unintrusive ways! For what we were asked to pay for the cottage, it is the best deal in town.

“Beautiful Home in Manuel antonio!” Our stay in Manuel antonio was wonderful. We went with a group of 7 and the house accommodated us well. We made a few breakfasts and dinners in the kitchen and even used the grill a few nights. We loved spending our morning and evenings poolside before or after the beach. Tom, the house manager, made our stay superb. He was able to coordinate day trips, tell us about the best restaurants in town, as well as take us to pick up groceries. We went zip lining,enjoyed a sunset cruise, and visited the national park. We got in ample beach time each day by relying on the buses or taxis which were affordable and timely. We ate delicious seafood every day and enjoyed the happy hours. You can pay in dollars, but it is easier to have colones. Would definitely stay again!

“Exhilarating” The property manager, Alex, met us at the airport and took us to the home, carried our luggage in and made sure we were comfortable. The house is beautiful, with a spacious deck and dipping pool, surrounded by the natural beauty (sights and sounds) of the jungle. We felt very safe because of the 24-hour security guard at the gate. The "wildlife", however, gave us a few starts! Once we got used to the Jurassic Park sized insects and bullfrogs, we settled in and were very happy. We were close to Dominical beach and not too far from Manuel antonio Park to visit daily. We loved the zipline experience the best. This is a great place to stay if you want to be secluded from the entire world, and yet close enough to go visit places. I would recommend it for those who love nature, or just want to be away from it all!

“Andrew - Great stay!” Stayed here for a week, had a blast! 11 of us fit nicely into this large, spacious house. Both alex and Maria were great. The pool area is amazing. Spent several afternoons sitting on the edge of the pool, looking upon the beautiful landscape. Would def go back!!

“Fantastic experience!” The Villa was fantastic. 5 star accommodations. The concierge was very helpful and responded immediately to all our calls. “Felt like home, great view, wonderful deck.” We had a wonderful time at La Colina de Carolina in Montezuma. We've stayed at several rental vacation places and found La Colina to be the best for us. It was more like home, rather than cold and impersonal like some places. It's built on a hill with an overhang roof, so it's cool, there was no need for air con. There was a powerful floor fan when we needed it for a particularly hot day. Some places say "well equipped" kitchen, but this one really was! Very homey and comfortable, perfect for a couple. Can't see any neighbours, just nature and a wonderful view. Montezuma is still a small quiet town with unspoiled beaches. We are a past-mid-century couple and managed to walk back up the hill from the beach every day, we just waited for late afternoon when the sun was off the hill. It wasn't that bad, and kept us in shape. We'd definitely go back to La Colina and recommend to our friends.

“We are hooked.” This was our second trip to the Casa and we must say it was better than the first. My wife and I had 10 days to explore and take in the Country like we had never before. We found the rainy season (Sept) more to our liking and would highly recommend that time of the year to truly experience the beauty of the region. Cannot say enough about Randy's staff and hospitality, something truly unique in todays environment. As I Titled this review as being hooked for it truly did hook us, to the point we have purchased a house east of Parrita and are moving up our retirement dates.
