“Sweet mountain cabin in a nice quiet location.” We rented this home for one of our summer get aways with our blended crew/family. Everyone had a fantastic experience. Its location is just outside of town in a very nice and peaceful area called Glenshire. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this home and would rent it again- maybe when we go up to board and ski in winter.

“South Tahoe Ski Home” This home was outstanding. It was clean, well equipped and a very comfortable place to relax after long days of skiing. We loved the home and it was exactly as presented by the owner. The hot tub was a nice touch! I hope it is available for our next Tahoe trip!

“Amazing Home for Family Vacation” Our family spent 3 days and nights here last June and absolutely loved it. We just booked for the same weekend in June and can't wait for the trip. Here is a breakdown of why we find this Tahoe home to be such a perfect fit for us (and many others): 1. Location: Easy to get to as it sits between Truckee and Tahoe City and falls on a main road, but the long driveway means the home is secluded. The house is nestled back in the trees allowing beautiful views and has all sorts of little tracks and outside areas to explore. We loved to wander across the street to the Truckee River and to walk around the grounds. But then it is essentially 10-15 minutes to all places you might need or want. 2. Family fit: The location certainly set the stage for our wonderful trip, but the house itself really suited us. It is very child friendly - our kids (aged 1 and 3) loved to pile cushions up in the basement and run around, play ping pong, sit at the poker table, explore the patios or run down the hall upstairs. 3. Group fit: We went up with another family (same age kids) and the house really could not have been better for this crew of 8. We slept on one side of the home while the other family took 3 bedrooms at the other end. The closets are so big and have windows that we used both of them for the older kids (who liked the idea of building a "nest"). Early wakers could go down to the lowest level and run around without disturbing others. We could hang out as a big group very easily but also separate into family units if desired.

“New year Family Vacation” We enjoyed our stay at Red Cedar, 5 adults and 1 child. The Tahoe Getaway staff were very professional and made the reservation process very easy. The house was comfortable and as the description stated. Very close to shopping, restaurants and the resorts. The Beds were comfortable with quality bedding. If I had anything to say that could make our week nicer it would be the Garage access. No codes for door opener, so you have to open the door from inside the garage, go upstairs to lock up house, Reverse when coming home. Also if you like to cook, you may want to bring a couple of kitchen knives as all the knives in the kitchen are serrated.

“Cozy Sunset Chalet” My family and I have stayed at the Sunset Chalet in North Lake Tahoe twice in the past year. Both trips were fantastic! We absolutely love the warmth and coziness the chalet provides. The views are breathtaking from both the first and second floors. The neighborhood is quiet and clean, and the location of the chalet works well for my family's needs. There are so many little amenities already available at the chalet which is an added bonus. We hope to return again and again to this spectacular spot!

“A very nice and convenient home” This house is very well kept and has a good deal to it. Besides the basics (TV, table, beds, blankets, etc.), the kitchen is a grand place for anyone looking to cook. There are plenty of pans, pots, utensils, and even a rack filled with different spices (oregano, basil, etc.). It was quite amazing. The house itself looks and feels very homely, and I had a great time. Fits a group of 10 people quite nicely and never felt too cramped. Furthermore, close to a good deal of restaurants and a Grocery Outlet! The owner of the place, Suzanne, is also very easy to get in contact with and is very friendly. She does a great job of letting you know how the process should proceed, and she made the experience all the more comforting. Overall, a great home and highly recommended!

“Awesome Location” The place is well kept and has great furnishings. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking to explore the Truckee/Tahoe area while escaping some of the traffic. While my visit took place over the summer, the location makes for a perfect ski trip. I imagine you could ski/board to the lifts on any given day. The price is also very affordable. I have stayed at several places around the lake, and would definitely stay there again soon.

“Northshore Gem” I decided to take a chance on a condo in the Northshore area of Lake Tahoe with my wife on a special occasion. What a pleasant surprise! Not only was the condo nestled in a great secure community, but the view from the deck was outstanding. I didn't think that you could find a place with such a view on the rental market for such a reasonable price. This will remain as one of my favorite getaways and will be on my list for annual events.

“EXCELLENT CABIN” We selected this cabin as a gift for my daughter for receiving her Master's Degree. We had an amazing time. The views were incredible. This cabin is fully equipped and the open floor plan allowed us to enjoy each others company! Our family enjoyed the poker table, pool table, ping pong table, dart board and Nintendo Wii games. We were able to bbq and enjoy the beautiful weather. The location was perfect only 15 minutes away from the casinos. The beds were comfortable and the cabin is very well kept. From the minute I booked the cabin the owner was in contact with me and available for questions. I HIGHLY recommend this cabin!

“An amazing Vacation” This is a beautiful cabin very well layed out for 2 or 3 families to share. The downstairs is wonderful for children to enjoy while the adults are upstairs. It was very clean, well stocked with all that is needed to enjoy staying at home and cooking and the scenery was beautiful. The shuttle service to Northstar was wonderful. So easy, fast and convenient! It was a very comfortable and relaxing vacation.

“Very confortable, spacious and clean...” I just came back from a week vacation on Lake Tahoe and Pioneer Retreat did the job flawlessly. The house is big enough for 12 people, it's well equipped and it was spotless, like really-really clean, no dust and the Jacuzzi and BBQ are a big plus. The property administrators (Tahoe Gateways) did an excellent job sending information about restaurants, transportation and general rules regarding the house. I've been renting homes for vacation purposes for more than 15 years in Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, L.A., Big Bear and San Diego and this was, by far, the best experience. Hope to visit Tahoe again... and soon. Only 3 cons (livable): 1. Looks like it's time to replace the towels 2. The water heater is a bit small for 12 people, expect to run out of hot water if some of your travel mates take long showers 3. The internet is as slow as the slowest internet café, even the speed on a Mcdonalds is faster
