Paradise in the Desert
Home Away From Home

Wow! This Paradise in the desert was everything I hoped for and more! I was in Pahrump several years ago and stayed in a hotel. It was horrible! The person above us walked ALL night! This time, I told my husband there was no way I was staying in a hotel. I found Paradise in the Desert and made a reservation. I'm so glad I did! Upon arrival, the manager met us in the driveway and gave us a tour of the guest house. It is the size of a large one bedroom apartment. The place was emaculate and had everything we needed to make it our home away from home. The chairs and couch in the living room were very comfy. There is a TV and tons of DVRs and CDs to watch, but having spent four full days at Frontsight, we didn't have any free time to enjoy the amenities as we were exhausted at the end of the day...... which brings me to the bedroom. The bedroom is very large and has two Queens sized beds.....one is a pillow top and the other is a sleep number. The first night we slept in the sleep number one. It is quite comfortable but I am use to sleeping in a King bed and I found it a bit crowded with my husband in it as I like to spread out when I sleep, so the next night, I let him sleep in the Sleep Number bed and I took the pillow top. Wow!!! We BOTH slept like babies and woke up refreshed for our class! There is a big walk in closet and dresser drawers for putting your clothes away on those extended stays. The bathroom is large and has a walk in shower only which is fine with us because we prefer showers anyway. The hot water is plentiful and gets HOT quickly. There were plenty of clean towels and toilet paper in the cabinets for our use. It also features a full kitchen with full sized fridge (with ice maker), coffee maker (bring your own coffee), microwave and pots, pans, dishes and utensils. They even had about ten cold bottles of water waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. To save money, we bought four days worth of groceries when we arrived and cooked all of our meals at the house. It was so perfect, I could have easily LIVED in that guest house forever! The owners were very respectful of our privacy, in fact, I do not recall having seen them once while I was there. They were quiet and stayed to themselves. They gave us the option of parking our vehicle right in front of the guest house OR on the other side where they park their vehicle, which I thought was nice of them to give us the option. It was nice parking right by our entry door thought when we loaded and unloaded the car. I plan to visit Frontsight again later this year and next and I hope this place will be available for us again. I never want to stay anywhere else! I would also like to mention that it is about equi-distance to downtown Pahrump and Frontsight..... so I would estimate it to be about a 15 minute drive to Frontsight and if we wanted to go into town for supplies, it was about a 15 minute drive to town. Very convenient. Also, it is handicap accessible with wide doors and a ramp leading from the living room to bedroom / bath areas.see more
