fivespot cabin - an art and nature lover's retreat

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park house

“A Cozy Retreat” Fivespot is everything a little cabin should be--cozy, functional, beautiful and tucked away. Mahalia was very easy to work with and included so many thoughtful details--candied ginger in the cabinet to ward off carsickness on the windy roads and a fireplace with logs ready to go, just to name a couple. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quite mountain retreat.

River House at Buckeye Tree Lodge
Great location, incredible views, well suited for families

There are many things to recommend about this lodge-like house/condo. Located less than a mile from the Sequoia park entrance, it is spacious and has two balconies to enjoy the Kaweah River and mountain views. The balcony off of the master bedroom, shaded by a cottonwood, is particularly nice. There is a rope swing just outside of the downstairs bedroom, and the pool is steps from the front door. Our family of five was quite comfortable here, and there was one bedroom/bed completely untouched. All that said, the River House is dated and could use some TLC. The porch decks have peeling stain/paint; one of the faux leather couches is peeling; the bedding is dated. The floor plan layout is also a bit odd, with the front entrance leading directly to a bedroom, and the second bath (that services that bedroom and a large on downstairs) not in a central location. The kitchen is very sparely equipped for cooking, which we like to do in the evenings. All in all, it is a nice accommodation for exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, though prospective visitors should understand there will be a significant amount of driving involved to get to hikes or vistas in either park. The air conditioning was not working when we arrived, but management responded quickly and had it repaired within the first 36 hours. Housekeeping services were uneven: our beds were made some days and left unmade others. Overall, the place was clean, however, and offered two decks and views of the mountains and sounds of nature that we enjoyed every morning with coffee and every evening with dinner. We would stay here again.see more
White Castle Riverfront House
Great location and good hospitality.

Big house with plenty of gorgeous views from four balconies to big windows overlooking the Kaweah River. Great swimming hole below the home, had all the amenities needed. Great location to be to head into the giant forest, crystal cave and many other outdoor activities. We were also welcomed with a nice bottle of Chardonnay, thank you.see more
