“Best location for a Rome visit”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2015

We stayed in the apartment in the second week of July during the festivities in Trastevere. Via della Lungaretta is a radiant street with a flea market, stands and many local Romans mixed with tourists. The Area around the Santa Maria in Trastevere is in our mind the best area to stay in Rome. Many small restaurants, terraces and shops and best of all, within a 10 minutes’ walk you are in ancient Rome with all the highlights. During our stay the temperature was around 38 degrees Celsius, so very hot. Luckily the apartment has air conditioning, so we could cool down after a busy day, and get ready for dinner. Unfortunately the airco was only in the living room and its capacity was not enough to cool the complete apartment. On average: the apartment is very good and recommendable.

“Access Problem”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2015

Stayed here a week with my wife and 2 teenage nephews. It's an average apartment in a great location. We had a lengthy delay in our arrival at Fiumicino airport due to a fire which led to the closure of terminal 3. Our driver had no problem letting us know what a great inconvenience this was for him despite the fact that we called and left a voice message then followed up with a text per the transfer instructions. So, a big thumbs down for the transfer service. As a result, we were unable to get our dollars converted to euros and had no access to an ATM. The Weekey representative (sorry I can't remember his name) was very accommodating and returned the following day to collect the balance due. A big thumbs up for Weekey and that anonymous individual. The property is in a perfect location. It's on the main pedestrian way thru Testevere. There are many great restaurants, shops, and bars right at your doorstep. The Coliseum, Vatican, and just about all of Rome are within easy walking distance (we do like to walk, so everyone may agree about it being easy). The apartment is fairly average, but clean. One drawback is that there is only one small air conditioning unit in the living room/kitchen area. Each bedroom has wiring for an air conditioner, but no a/c unit. It appears that they have been removed, but maybe they haven't been installed -or- are undergoing repairs. The week we were there wasn't stifling hot, but not a comfortable sleeping temp for those in the bedrooms. We also had a few occasions when there was no hot water. It wasn't caused by teenage boys taking long showers. Maybe they share a water heater with another unit, | dunno. The biggest drawback is that we only got one set of keys. There's a key for the front door of the building. Another for access to the terrace (you enter the apartment from the terrace). Then a third for the front door of the apartment. The strangest part is that you need the key for the front door of the building to both enter and exit. So, if one person leaves, they must take the keys and no one else can leave until that person returns. I would recommend this apartment if the weather is not hot, and if you are traveling alone -or- you can secure multiple sets of keys.

“Great location -- well-appointed apartment”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2015

Our 4-adult family had a wonderful time in this apartment for a week. Everything was just as the photos suggest, except for the terrace which, when we were there, wasn't usable since the building next door was undergoing exterior renovations. This is not Weekey's fault, of course, but it did detract a bit from our stay. The service people (including the driver who came to the airport to pick us up) were very friendly and helpful, recommending great restaurants in Trastevere and immediately addressing a wifi issue in the apartment. Public transportation and a taxi stand are 1 block away, but we found it wonderful to simply walk across one of the bridges to get to Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiore, etc. All of the local shops, markets, and restaurants were excellent. You don't have to go into "downtown Rome" to have a beautiful evening meal! Be prepared for a bit of street noise in the evenings ... you'll be in one of the most 'happening' night time spots in Rome!
