“Lovely Italian villa”
Our family of 2 kids (8 & 11) and 2 adults spent a lovely 5 days in Cala Sabina. The pool and the 2 friendly dogs were a hit, the villa is very well equipped with everything you need if you would like to cook for yourself and the views are beautiful. Nicola the owner is very helpful and even provided us with home made (still warm) tomato sauce, homemade olive oil , jam and limoncello to complement the stay. There is a good pizzeria down the road if you prefer eating out. We would definitely recommend this villa to others visiting the area . Be warned if you drive in and out of rome for a day trip you may need nerves of steel to negotiate the Roman streets especially at evening rush hour (getting to the villa from the airport and around the countryside was no problem)- taking the train is probably a better bet .
Response from the owner Hi Poppy, thank you for your lovely review, and I hope that when you plan you next trip to Europe you will visit again. Nicola
“Wish it was our holiday home”
We (a family of 5 - children aged 5, 7 & 10) had an amazing holiday, we stayed in Nicola's beautiful villa for approx 2 weeks , which had everything you could need on a self-catering holiday... and more! The boys loved having their very own swimming pool, and thoroughly enjoyed having Hercules and Penelope to play with. The villa itself is very spacious, well furnished and equipped, we cooked most nights and ate out on the veranda which the boys loved doing. Our one regret is that unfortunately due to the weather we did not get a chance to cook our pizzas in the wood-burning oven... oh well, I guess we will have to come back to do that!! From our late arrival to our very early departure nothing was too much trouble for Nicola, who helped us out with things from train tickets in to Rome, locating the shops to borrowing a cup of flour... she is the perfect host. Thank you Nicola!! To wake up on that first morning (even though it was quite cloudy) to see the views from the bedroom windows was just amazing! Just an hour by train into Rome we had the perfect holiday, plenty of time to see the sights and plenty of time to relax around the pool. Who could ask for more... a holiday to remember for sure!!
“All you can wish for!”
After an extensive search on the internet we found Cala Sabina, which seemed to suit our purposes: in a quiet environment, with room for 6 ladies, and with a private swimmingpool and nice view. What we got was more then we bargained for: a great house, furnished with eye for detail, nothing we missed out on. Even the kitchen was more then fully equiped. The private swimmingpool was private indeed and was heated and cleaned every day. The reception by the owner was very warm: on request she had prepared a cold dinner, as we arrived rather late. This was a very nice welcome with typical italian cold dishes and sparkling wine. The owner, Nicola, turned out to be a great source of information on all we wanted to know: form driving tours to the best way to get to Rome by car, to an advisory service on wines. All in all, she made us feel welcome... Great place to stay!!
What an amazing holiday we had at CalaSabina! Everything was just perfect - the countryhouse was spacious, clean and comfortable, the location was really easy to access from the airport but far enough away to feel the benefits of the countryside and the food was divine. We spent 3 nights at Nicola's place and she catered for us on two of these, with hindsight we should have asked for three nights as although the kitchen was fully equipped and there was a local supermarket we couldn't quite match Nicola's standard! We left to come home very relaxed after spending several days by the pool in the sunshine, the only negative being we are now a few pounds heavier! Time to hit the treadmill! This is the place to stay!
“heerlijk leven in Italie”
“Marevellous, Tuscany like views!”
I happened to stay at CalaSabina just for a week end; I was in Rome on business and wanted to relax in a nice quiet place. What a surprise! Comfort combined to beauty. I was lucky with the weather, too. I dived in the pool while the landlady was discreetly leaving a glass of Chardonay on the board. A definite must!
“Three Wonderful weeks in Sabina!!!”
We had a wonderful time this summer at Nicola's house. The food she cooks is fantastic when you wish to spend a nice evening at home. Better than in the best restaurant in the area. The house is cozy and hospitable, surrounded by a gorgeous countryside. Everyday we would go to Rome, sometimes by car sometimes by train, and after a long day of sightseeing, we would be home and jump in the swimming-pool and relax in the garden. We also discoverede many beautiful boroughs that nobody knows around the Tarano area... and it was fantastic! Great hostess, we never felt lonely. Thank you Nicola!!!
