Best location if most famous sights should be reached by foot.

The apartment is for maximum 6 adults. 2 additional places are for children only.

MAGICIAN THE GREEN, BANKERS AND FILMMAKERS

The house, a Kreuzberg landmark of one of Berlin most famous street, is firmly in the grip of uniqueness. Gutschow house, built in 1895, a significant work of historicism (neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance), is the symbol of the southern Friedrichstrasse because of the elaborate facade, its location and history. It is the only house in this area that 100% survived the World War II. A protective spell , perhaps because here was from 1910 to 1990 the Mecca of the magicians, the headquarters of the world famous magician Conradi-Horster ?

In 2006, the Greens also conjured up a unique opportunity for the then tenants: the right of first refusal for the entire house, 21 apartments. But why has only a mother with two children made use of this right and pledged to pay within 30 days a million amount that she did not have ? How did she managed to stand up to gentrification? MyBerlinStyle is this moving Berlin past and present.

The national heritage monument has been 2014 fully restaurated (new roof, elevator, balconies, windows, heating, water-, electricity- and drainage-system, bathrooms etc.). All apartments have 2 bathrooms each with shower, one balcony and high-quality furnishings. 3 apartments have 3 bedrooms, one has 2 bedrooms. In the living room is a massive oak dining table, kitchen from massive beech, sofa, LCD-TV, HiFi, DVD, Wireless Hi-Speed DSL. Kitchen equipped with ceramic stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, kettle, egg cooker, cutlery and high-quality pots. Washroom with washing machine. Cleaning is made with gently dosed organic materials, no softeners, no perfumes.

"Six of us - women 'd'un certain age'- stayed here at the beginning of this winter and were all delighted with our choice. The building itself is beautiful, redolent of end of empire flourish, while the apartment, with the gracious proportions of an earlier era is warm and welcoming. We loved the beautiful original wooden floors, the decorative plasterwork on the bedroom ceilings, the sense of space, as well as the terrific shower in a stylish, modern bathroom. Our inner homemakers thrilled to the quality and solidity of the linens and general fittings (and dreamy beds ). The kitchen is really well equipped so we did not just eat breakfast there but prepared some meals too, though there are some good restaurants close by. The main room and the bedrooms are really roomy, not even with 6 of us did it ever feel crowded. Marion , our host in Berlin, was welcoming and gave some really useful tips on eating out and things to do, and his welcome package was chosen with care - organic and delicious.

The location is great! so close to Museuminsel that it makes a very comfortable stroll before a trip to the unmissable Pergamon. But if walking's not your thing then the wonderful Berlin public transport system is accessible only 2 mins away at the Kochstrasse stop. Another visit you must make is to the Jewish Museum which is also only 2 mins walk from the building. This is a great city for history and culture fans , so get booking ! you won't regret choosing this apartment as your base for your explorations. But get fit first and keep your luggage minimal; there are two flights to walk up. "

Response from the owner 1. all extra fees are shown in the booking information and in the house rules. In addition the guest gets a message with all information (what should be paid in cash) 3 days before arrival. 2. Because of covid regulations we have to check all traveling documents at arrival. So.. giving 60 minutes (to get fist in the apartment and take a short rest) for filling out all forms is even generous. 3. all washing machines and dryers are digitally reported and save each usage. We are any time able to show you this details.
