“Very Enjoyable!!!” This cabin was everything we needed and more. This was mine and my husband's first time away since we had children. This was so enjoyable, the cabin was perfect. We actually plan on coming back and bringing our children. It is so quiet we could hear the leaves fall. The owner was so helpful and very nice. I will for sure be back soon.

“Perfect” Great place to get away from it all. Put our kayaks in the river right at the cabin, good fishing, plenty of places to ride dual sport motorcycles in the area, paved and unpaved.

“Great location for a quite getaway” I booked this cabin for my wife and myself for our anniversary. The weather did not cooperate as it rained heavily on the day we arrived. The family that owns this cabin are very nice and will help with any needs. I had to have them bring a tractor and pull my van out when I got it stuck on the wet loose gravel and there were no complaints. We enjoyed ourselves in this quiet wooded setting and saw wildlife just outside the cabin. We walked down to the river which was muddy and rolling by due to the rain. We drove in to Beattyville for lunch and supplies and ate dinner at Red River Rock House. Other than those 2 excursions. we spent the rest of our weekend at the cabin and walking around the property. Our overall experience was quite enjoyable and is worth repeating.

“Exquisitely serene.” My spouse, 2 dogs, and I stayed for 5 nights. We were delightfully pleased with the solitude of the setting and the uniqueness of the cabin. All is as described ,we have no complaints, and will return. We have stayed many places in search of the perfect city escape-now we found it.!

“the most perfect pet friendly place to stay” This place was amazing, all the little extras was such a special touch. The location was so close to the state park to go hiking. And the peace and quiet at the cabin was the best. Will definitely be returning.

PERFECT!!!

Our stay was wonderful! We will definitely be back. Quiet cozy and just what we need. The cabin has all the basics which was great bc we didn’t need anything more bc we were hiking the whole time. Thank you Larry for your southern hospitality. We aren’t used to that in ohio! Loved hearing him tell my Marine Corps husband his Marine Corps stories. Thank you for the calm relaxing very clean cabin.see more

Bunkhouse cabin

We just came back from our stay at the Mountainside Bunkhouse cabin with H&P cabin rentals. What a great place to relax and enjoy the true beauty of nature! The cabin had all the items needed for our stay and even included fire wood for our bonfire after climbing the Red! We were greeted by Larry, the host, he is such a great gentleman and really makes you feel welcome. We will see you again my friend!!!see more

Will not disappoint!

My husband, Eric, and I stayed at the General's Cabin for our honeymoon last week. I will admit that when Eric initially brought up the idea of staying in a rural, rustic cabin for the week, I wasn't overly excited. But one look at the cabin and the surrounding areas and I couldn't help but fall in love. We opted to take our two puppies which was a great decision. The property that the cabin sits on has private walking trails, a fishing pond and is completely fenced in which we all LOVED! It was so nice to be able to lay in the hammock, grill dinner or enjoy coffee out on the beautiful front patio overlooking the woods and let the dogs run free. Joy and Michael were wonderful to work with- communication was easy and they took the time to add personal touches like roses and champagne at check-in. They even called on our second night to check on us and give some pointers on where to visit. We expected to be on the go for the whole week, but there was enough to do at the cabin that we spent a majority of our time relaxing...which was much needed after the busyness of our wedding the weekend before. Red River Gorge is gorgeous! The trails were great and the lookouts were breathtaking. If you have a chance to go into Natural Bridge State Park, we highly recommend the sky lift to Natural Bridge and Miguel's Pizza. I thought I had, had great pizza before, but this was honestly the best I've ever had. So fresh! And they even had gluten-free options for me! Thank you, Joy and Michael, for lending us your home for the week. It was truly a wonderful vacation and we look forward to coming back and bringing family.see more

Peaceful and relaxing

I wasn't sure about this cabin until I got there, saw ot and spoke to the owner. It was an amazing weekend stay. Greg met me at the main road to ensure I got where I was going. He even walked the grounds and cabin with me so I knew how everything operated before I signed the final paperwork. He told some pretty amazing stories and was very attentive to any needs or questions. The river ran behind the property and there is opportunity to rent canoes, kayaks, a house boat or a pontoon! The driveway absolutely requires a 4 wheel drive to this property! I went to relax, get back to nature and enjoy some time in Hollerwood Park. This property was absolutely perfect and I had a blast! If you are looking for rustic and a little primitive this is the place to go! I absolutely will be back, possibly every month! Again Greg and Peggy are the best rental property owners I have ever run across. Greg makes you feel welcome, safe and right at home!see more

Woolly Worm Festival Lodging

Cabins was exactly as photos showed. Relatively easy to find. Owners were very nice and responsive. Unit we stayed in would be accessible by car also. Bed was comfortable and cabin was quiet and everything worked. If you are taller than 5'10" watch your head walking in and you may struggle with the shower head being so low. It's just the way the cabin is built. Other tips. Bring an extra pillow. The ones provided were fine but it was only two. There is not a dresser or luggage stand in the cabin. So the suitcase will need to sit on the chair or floor during your stay. I was completely happy with our stay and plan to return.see more
