Hakuna Matata: High-End Island Living!

Hawksnest Bay villa

4 bedrooms / 6 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“A great place for a rugged tropical adventure.” I did not approve of the service people (landscaping, maid service-multiple times including right before the wedding) showing up and entering the home when they did. It was inappropriate and uncomfortable to come home to people in the house. Then having them stay for an hour or more left me feeling uneasy to leave the house. For the cost of the home there should be absolutely no interuptions unless there is an emergency.

Terrahawk: North Shore Location! Walk to Gibney Beach!

Hawksnest Bay villa

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“Everything you need at Terra Hawk - and with an excellent view!” If you are a fan of Gibney Beach (my favorite beach) then the ideal villa location is Terra Hawk. The driveway is not for the faint of heart - a definite workout -but totally worth it! The view from the deck is amazing. Terra Hawk was fully stocked for those choosing to dine in. In theory, the showers with the open-air window are a great idea. However, I am not a fan of sharing my shower time with mosquitos and lizards! :) We are looking forward to visiting Terra Hawk again...

Mango Bay: Amazing North Shore Views!

Hawksnest Bay villa

4 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“We had a great Time as always” We have rented from Catered To many times, and have always been happy with the homes and the service. This is the second time our group has stayed at Mango Bay. The house was just as nice as 12 years ago. We believe it has the best view on the island! We will be back! The only improvement we would ask, is new outdoor furniture. The pieces are rather worn, and several are about to break.

East End villa

“Awesssooommmeee” Was reluctant to write this review, because didn't want other people renting possible time, I might rent again. It was the most relaxing time,I have ever had in ST.Thomas, the view was breathtaking,as much as I love ST.Thomas,i never wanted to leave Cabrite point, was never in a hurry to do anything or go anywhere , perfect place to experience, what they refer to has island time.I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the daily grind, lay back and relax and enjoy the view as well as the trade winds ,you won't regret it, my only regret was that we had to leave after 3 weeks , next time will book it for a month

Harbor View - Big Views & Sunsets In Cruz Bay

Cruz Bay apartment

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Best view in the islands!” For several years now, my favorite form of relaxation at Harbor View is kicking back in the evening and watching the setting sun slide down behind St. Thomas ...while sipping away at something with a lime in it. Great location. Just a couple minute walk downhill to the ferry dock, restaurants, the Dolphin grocery and easy-going night life in Cruz Bay. Super staff at St. John Properties.

Sweet Wind Villa overlooking Hurricane Hole

Coral Bay house

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Incredible views, wonderful stay” My husband and I booked this rental last minute after finding an incredibly low airfare to St John, and weren't quite sure what to expect. What a amazing find! Sweet Winds is just outside of Coral Bay, overlooking Hurricane Hole, and words can't do justice to the view you'll have from this property. Even the pictures fall short of showing the incredible view we enjoyed from every room in the villa. Sweet Winds is nicely appointed, impeccably clean, and friendly to groups and families as each of the three bedrooms has a bathroom ensuite. Nina Hahler, the owner, lives next door where she paints and tends to her garden (which is also lovely with bougainvillea and gardenia in full bloom). Nina was very accommodating without being intrusive in any way, and gave us a ton of great tips on the best snorkeling spots and restaurants on the East side of the island. She also has kayaks, beach towels and chairs, and all sorts of beach items for kids available to her renters. If you want to break from the packs of tourists, and you don't require the amenities of a big resort, Sweet Winds and the Coral Bay area can't be beat, in our opinion. We highly highly recommend this rental and look forward to coming back with family next year.

Relax 4 Us at Bolongo Bay ~ USVI

Charlotte Amalie apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Excellent property and great destination!” Our stay here was wonderful! We just came back a few weeks ago (Jan 7-14) from our trip and we are ready to book for the next year! We had such a great time: Accommodations - The apartment is very clean and modern. It has nice comfortable beds and lovely décor in every room. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary utensils and appliances. Bathrooms are clean and modern. I loved the cherry wood doors and marble countertops all around. There is a large balcony that you can eat or relax out on. Beach chairs, towels etc. is also provided for you. Beach - you can go downstairs and you are at the Bolongo Bay beach, its lovely, you have all the water sports options that you would find at a typical resort right there. If you walk past the restaurants and the hotel (5 minute walk along the beach), there is a great snorkeling spot past the rocks, very cool! We had a rental car so we also drove (about 15 min) to Smith Bay. This beach is pure heaven! It seems to be mainly visited by locals and is not crowded with perfect white sand and beautiful calm blue waters. Pool - There are a couple of pools that you can use. We used the one by the beach; it had a tap to wash off the sand as well. The pool was nice and clean and the water was pretty warm. Food - Like I mentioned you have everything you need to prepare your food 'at home' if you are on a budget or have specific dietary needs. There are many supermarkets that deliver or you can shop in a warehouse type place (CostUless) or a supermarket (Pueblo) or some local stands that are all around. There are three popular restaurants directly in the Bolongo Bay area so you don't ever have to leave the area if you choose not to: • Iggys - casual burger type place• Mims - fancier place that serves sea food• Lobster Grill - very fancy There is a lot to do on the island and its neighbors, but we have small kids so we took it easy this time and just enjoy the water. Next time we rent this apartment, we will explore the island.

Poi Pu St John Villa - great views & total privacy

Cruz Bay house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Lifetime Memories” My family and friends rented Poi Pu for a week this past June. We had an amazing time. We loved the rock double shower. Several nights we cooked dinner and everyone ate out on the deck what a beautiful experience. It was also located close to some of the most beautiful beaches ever. The house was very clean, great amenities, cozy, and we were comfortable. If we needed anything we could call the property management and they were prompt to offer advice or their services if needed. It was also the little things that made our stay like the beach accessories that we were able to use instead of having to rent them daily. Those costs could have added up quickly. A beautiful home with a beautiful view. We can't wait to return. Also we were traveling with our 10 month old daughter. She took her very first steps at Poi Pu. We made lasting memories for our family.

Quart-A-Nancy Point, Cooper Island, BVI

Cooper Island house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“We want to return!” We had 12 glorious days at Quart-A-Nancy Point. What a fabulous spot. This was truly the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. We have sailed to Cooper Island for the last 10 years, and decided to rent a house this time. The best decision ever! The views are spectacular, the hermit crabs very entertaining, snorkeling and kayaking for exercise, and enjoying reading on the beautiful outdoor living room porch (love the hammock!). Everything about this home is ideal. We'll be back. Thank you to Fred and Candia for allowing us to rent your paradise.

Mooncottage: Most Romantic St. John Petite Luxury Villa in peaceful Coral Bay

Coral Bay villa

2 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“The PERFECT Honeymoon” There truly are not enough positive ways to sum up our 10 nights at Mooncottage. From the very beginning, Brian was a tremendous help as we were researching locations to spend our honeymoon. He made sure to provide us any local "tips" we would need so that there were no surprises along the way. It's hard to trust all of the incredible review online (can Mooncottage really be THAT amazing?!) - but they are all true! The home is beautiful - pictures don't even begin to do justice to the stunning views - and the amount of space was perfect for the 2 of us. We wanted a honeymoon location where we could just relax and never feel like we were on a schedule, and Mooncottage provided the perfect accommodations for that. We spent mornings and nights just taking in all of the scenery below us, and spent our days visiting different beaches, restaurants, and bars each day. We came to embrace the (very bumpy) drive up/down the road to the house, and it's really kind of fun once you get used to it! The privacy is well worth the short extra drive -- and we loved being in Coral Bay on the less populated end of the island. We've already passed the name of the home along to a few of our friends who are looking for a special getaway -- and we can't wait to go back ourselves!

“Absolute Paradise!!!!” Thanks to Tom we had the perfect getaway!!! Fast booking, we were provided with tons of information before we even left and the deposit returned asap. This condo was in the best place - you were in your own world yet so close to everything. We had privacy, everyone was pleasant and perfect weather. All that was needed was right there. The view was beautiful, the pool 2 minutes away - walking and Sapphire Beach 5 minutes away - walking. And lets not leave out the Off the Grid food truck at the top of the hill. We are early risers so we snorkeled in the morning, walked the beach in the afternoon and made good use of the pool 7am to 10pm with cocktails and appetizers at the Sapphire and Grill. The ferry to St. Thomas is a 5 minute drive too!!! This is the place you want to be and we will definitely be booking this amazing place again. Thanks to you Tom and your condo - you rock!!!!

Palm Vista: 1 of the Top 10 Villa Views in World! Over 120 FIVE STAR REVIEWS

Cruz Bay villa

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Comfortable and pleasant with easy days and restful nights.” We returned home with fond memories of our wonderful 10 days in St. Johns. On our arrival, we were welcomed at the Cruz Bay ferry dock by a representative of Palm Vista who guided us, after picking up our car rental, to the Palm Vista villa. All operational issues of the villa and our responsibilities were explained. The lodging at Palm Vista was perfect for what we had wished--isolated when we were there, spectacular views at all times of day, comfortable, clean inside and out, nice flowers and setting, spacious and quiet. To top that, everything worked splendidly, from the kitchen and its appliances, to the showers, to the grill, to the wireless if you were so inclined. The seemingly perilous drive to Palm Vista through the turns and up the slopes was definitely worth the few anxious moments and the courageous act was always generously rewarded. We made many trips with our rented Jeep Wrangler and snorkeled and enjoyed visiting other parts of the island and having some memorable dinners. But, returning to Palm Vista was always joined with great anticipation by all four of us for the waiting discussion, drinks, sometimes dinner, and views to pass the time and to catch some sun with complete relaxation, mostly around the pool and on the main patio. Some books were read and the nights were perfect for a restful sleep. We took a chance depending upon the website for information, and it worked out excellently. I will keep Palm Vista in mind for the next time. Of course, the picture of Palm Vista copied on the ceramic cup that we took home, will come in sight every time the cup is lifted, be it containing coffee or scotch, and it will bring back great memories of the paradise we found. All things worked out regarding travel and car rental, and we enjoyed some nice food and comfortable dining in town. We all had a great time! There is no mistake here!

“Week in paradise!” Our stay in the Little Palm Suite was wonderful! The suite was exactly as described in the posting and was accurately displayed in the photos. The view of Fish Bay off the deck was amazing! It was a beautiful sight to look forward to every morning. The suite was very clean and well-stocked with necessities. Both the inside and outside (grounds) at the suite were extremely well-maintained. We appreciated having beach towels and beach chairs provided for us to use for our daily trip(s) to the beaches. Michael was a wonderful host! The information he provided to prior to our trip was extremely helpful as we made our plans. He was so helpful to us during our stay as well with directions and with restaurant and beach recommendations. We enjoyed all of the restaurants that he recommended. Our personal favorites were the Sun Dog Cafe for breakfast/lunch and the Lime Inn and Fish Trap for dinner. We loved being able to eat every meal outside for an entire week! The ice cream shop at the end of Mongoose Junction was also a favorite. Our favorite north side beaches were Hawksnest (smaller and not very busy) and Trunk Bay (busier, but so beautiful and picturesque). We really enjoyed the laid-back pace on St. John and had a truly relaxing week. I really enjoyed staying a little bit outside of Cruz Bay and the location in Fish Bay was perfect. We would highly recommend Little Palm Suite! Thank you, Michael for sharing your home with us and for helping us enjoy our week in paradise!

Drake's View: Voted Best View in the Caribbean

Coral Bay villa

4 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Incredible, Gorgeous View!” Our family stayed at Drake's View June 13th - July 1st, 2013. We needed a villa with 4 bedrooms. It was the "view" from Drake's View that won it over! Wow, what an incredible, gorgeous view of Coral Bay & the Bvi's! The Kit, LR & DR areas are all on the upper level & flow into each other so you always feel a part of what's going on & with several seating areas, you can have your space too! There are 3 bdrms on the lower level in the main house & a private 1 bdrm cottage. All are equal with a/C & kg beds with 1 in the main house having the option to be made into twins. Entry to 1 of the bedrooms in the main house is off the porch so you have to walk outside to get to it. The kit was well equipped & used & so was the BBQ grill. We ate about ½ our meals at the villa while enjoying the view! We used the pool & hot tub just about every day after coming back from the beach. The pool gets good sun until mid-day & is larger than most. It has a gradual slope to deep end & has a built-in bench all along the length of the pool. You can sit there or in the hot tub & enjoy a nice view. The villa has plenty of outdoor seating space, sun & shade, to gather as a group or find a quiet space to yourself! Even though you could see a couple villas on other hillsides, they were far enough away & situated to where we felt complete privacy! In the evenings we enjoyed listening to music on the stereo...speakers worked great...while playing Scrabble & card games. The villa only has 1 TV...no big deal because we don't typically watch TV. The large capacity W/D are on the lower level & conveniently located near the pool's ½ bath for wet suits & towels & near the bdrms. They were used often during our 18 night stay & worked great! We loved Drake's View & the Bordeaux Mtn location...the view, close to Maho Bay & close to our family's favorite Coral Bay restaurant...Shipwreck Landing!

Beachfront Villa with a Down Island View-Priceless

East End apartment

1 bedroom / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Well maintained, quality furnished condo with very helpful owner.” We have stayed in several different condos @ Sapphire Beach in several different price ranges. John's is by far the best maintained despite it not being the highest end priced. It also has a great bar/eating area on the lower deck. Renting from John is like renting from a friend or family member. There were no surprises from John other than I had over paid without realizing & he contacted me to let me know he was sending me a check.

Spectacular Sunsets & Ocean Views Remodeled Villa

Cruz Bay villa

3 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“Great location, beautiful view, all the amenities you need!” We just returned from our honeymoon in St. John and Heavenly Villas was perfect for our time on the island, and the views from the deck are incredible. The villa is the perfect size for a couple, or a very small group, and had everything we needed. We had breakfast and coffee on the deck each morning, and spent most evenings there watching the sunset before going out for dinner. We also took advantage of the beach chairs, snorkel gear, and cooler and didn't have to worry about buying anything aside from food and drinks while we were down there. Josh, the property manager, was very helpful, and everything went smoothly when we arrived to check in, meeting us at the ferry dock, and he also helped us get in touch with our jeep rental company. He also had the villa provisioned for us with food and drinks we had requested. The villa is located a short 2 minute drive from downtown Cruz Bay, and a short drive to all the beautiful beaches, so it made it easy for us to get anywhere on the island. Scott, the owner, was very helpful and super responsive throughout the booking process, and made everything super easy and stress-free, which was much appreciated. We will definitely be returning and recommending Heavenly Villas to friends!

The Beach House St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands

St. Thomas villa

5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“An experience of a lifetime” Arriving at the beach house is an experience in itself. The "driveway" is steep and consists of switchbacks reminiscent of a Colorado hiking trail. This just adds to the uniqueness of the house and the experience as well as the feeling of seclusion. The house itself is really three separate living areas. A main house with kitchen, TV room, and master bedroom, a cottage with more bedrooms and bathrooms, and an other bedroom/bathroom under the main living area. The house can be best described as a bit awkward in it's layout, but that's not why you are here. The outdoor living spaces can be described as incredible. There is a HUGE deck with VERY nice outdoor furniture. There are two outdoor dining areas, one covered that worked well even in hard rain. The main deck feels like it is hovering over a lush jungle overlooking a beautiful view of the ocean and adjacent islands. We spend 90% of our time there just enjoying life, day and night. There are stairs and railings everywhere. If you have mobility issues, this is probably not your place to stay. Also we were traveling with a three year old. If he were any younger, I would have been very nervous about him navigating the stairs, occasionally without railings. A slip could be the end of your vacation or worse. The website boasts a "clothing optional" vacation. This is entirely true. The seclusion of the home, the numerous outdoor showers, and the private beach can easily be enjoyed without any reservation with or without clothing. Be sure to take advantage of this. Even though we were staying with extended family, there was no concern about using outdoor showers, there is surprising privacy. After the amazing deck the other reason you are staying at this home is for it's beach. It is no joke, this is private! The only way to get here is by boat and because of the surrounding reef and the fact that it's not all that big it just isn't visited by anyone. With that said, it's more than enough beach for anyone and for the adventurous types there is a lot of rock climbing/scrambling that you can do to get beyond the beach to other rock outcroppings, tidal pools, and other interesting views and vantage points. One of the features my wife and I appreciated is that at the time of year we visited (early January) there were portions of the beach shaded by trees making us less hyper vigilant about getting sunscreen on our kids and ourselves, a very nice luxury. We could play in the water for hours without having to worry about excessive sun exposure (you can get sun if you want it, no problem). Another amazing feature is the boat house stuffed with fun toys. Boogie boards, kayaks, life jackets, snorkel gear, and more. Other features to note are a very nice and large grill, well functioning washer/dryer (key for the kids and their messes), a hot tub, which you sort of don't really need, but it's there if you want it, and good coverage by cell service and internet access through the home network. Bottom line is, is that this is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. It's unique, super private, comfortable, but not luxurious, and where else are you going to find what is truly your own private beach. If you are not the fence, just do it!

Luxury Honeymoon Suite/ Wifi/ Gated/ Privacy/ Private Pool/ Hot Tub

East End apartment

“Best Place On Earth!!” Where do I begin... My husband and I were on our honeymoon. Dana and Jason were the best hosts-they gave you privacy, but if you need assistance they were always there to help. They made us feel at home in the HarmonySuite with happy smiles and open arms. We were given breakfast every morning-tastes of the Island foods- DELICIOUS ; ) It was amazing to see the iguanas that would come up to the deck to visit. The rooms were well-kept and well-stocked Dana and Jason have everything at your hands. The pictures don't lie the VIEWS were phenomenal-(I think I have a billion pictures of just the view) It was awesome to wake up and come home every day to the spectacular views. The pool/cabana and hot tub were extra touches to this fantastic getaway and are exclusively for your enjoyment . The people on the island are the best so sweet, helpful, and genuine-always great to be around, the beaches are jaw dropping we never wanted to get out- recommending COKI BEACH/ MAGENS BAY and night life was amazing recommending DUFFY'S LOVE SHACK/ SENOR FROGS (RED HOOK) all of this plus much more all located about 6-8 minutes away (car recommended). Can't wait to go back to the best place on earth!! Dana & Jason we love you, Thank You for making our honeymoon a time to remember forever..God Bless

Villa in Paradise w/Private Pool! Walk to beach!

East End villa

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Perfect vacation in St Thomas” Spent end of January, beginning of February at Laverne's place in Pavilions and Pools. Everything was perfect. The condo was clean and very comfortable. It was great having your own pool just outside the door. The property was quiet and peaceful and We really enjoyed our stay here. The girls at the front desk, the maintenance people, everyone at the facility were extremely friendly and very responsive to any of our requests. Vicars, the on site restaurant was excellent. If you go there, order the steamed mussels appetizer. It was fabulous. Every morning there are bagels, muffins, cereal, juice and coffee if you don't feel like making your own breakfast. We also used the grill to cook a few steaks during our stay. The only slight drawback was the walk to the beach, it was approximately 5 minutes long, but seemed worse if you are carrying beach chairs, towels, etc. However, once you get to the beach the walk was worth it. Sapphire Beach is a really nice beach, with changing and rest room facilities and a vendor (Banana Bar) that serves sandwiches, drinks etc. From the beach it's a short walk to the Marina where you can see the Tarpon & Barracudas swimming in the clear waters. Red hook was a great area for restaurants or a trip to St Johns and it's only a few minutes away. We did not have a car and didn't need one. The Safari taxis stop right in front of the hotel, and regular taxis are not that expensive and easy to find. Don't miss the fiddle player at Latitude 18 on the other side of the Red Hook Harbor.

Hakuna Matata: High-End Island Living!
Spectacular!

Sharing a week with our family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in St John, we wanted everything to be special and unforgettable. Hakuna Matata provided us with incredible beauty, elegance and style which went even beyond our hopes and expectations. Nothing was left to chance nor to be desired in every respect. It is an exquisite paradise and certainly gave each of us, ages 6yr.-70yr., a most memorable and magical experience.see more
Terrahawk: North Shore Location! Walk to Gibney Beach!
Our third stay at Terrahawk

We originally chose Terrahawk because we wanted a nice private villa where we could walk to a north shore beach (rather than drive) because we had small children. It fit the bill, and we've returned every year since! The villa is nestled into the National Park forest, which you are sharing with geckos, iguanas, chickens and bananaquits. It has two bedrooms, with a central family room/kitchen area. All three rooms look out over a large deck with ocean views. But that's not why you came to St John! A short walk down the driveway and across the street, and you'll find yourself on a splendid coral sand beach draped in palm trees and sea grapes. Life can't get much better. Walk down in the morning or before sunset, and you'll have the entire beach to yourself. If you somehow manage to get bored with Gibney Beach, a dozen other beaches are a short drive away, including Hawksnest and Trunk Bay. Budget for a rental car, (the villa management company will arrange it for you) and about $300 to stock the refrigerator for the week. But other than that, put your wallet away and enjoy a week away from it all. I know this must sound like the place's marketing department, but that's just how much I love coming here!see more
Mango Bay: Amazing North Shore Views!
Lovely home

This was our second time to stay at Mango Bay. The house is still as lovely as ever. A previous reviewer had said the outside furniture was in poor condition, but we found it to be in excellent shape. It is all teak, and has the natural weathered look, but still very solid. The rest of the house is still immaculate. Other than losing power a couple of nights, late at night, we had no problems with the house. Just an FYI, the only cell service available up on that side of the island appears to be with at&T.; Neither Verizon or T-Mobile worked, except down in Cruz Bay. Our biggest problem was transportation. We booked at the last moment, and got a jeep rental from a group I had not used before. I had to change a flat tire on the first vehicle we got, after it went flat over the first night at the house. The second vehicle was in pretty rough shape, but got us around. The road up to Catherineburg from the main Centerline road is much rougher that I remember from our last two stays up there. Definitely requires a jeep vehicle. I did not dare to drive down to the north beach road, as that has always been a much rougher drive. But the view from the house every day, and the wonderful breezes up there make everything else worth it.see more
Kallaloo: Walk to Gibney Beach!
Kallaloo is a peaceful, comfortable house to enjoy with friends

This was our fourth year at Kallaloo, and we have loved it. Until this year we shared it with dear friends who went off sailing in the Bahamas this year on their new boat. So we invited other friends and family to join us. We are moving to a different property next year, but it is not because we haven't thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kallaloo; it is just more than we can manage without regular partners. The location cannot be beat, and the house is well-equipped and comfortable. We will miss our friends, the bananakeets and the hummingbirds. It is a pleasure to deal with the folks at Catered To who are always pleasant and responsive.see more
