“Excellent apartment, best location, great hosts” I had the good fortune to find and stay in the Painter apartment, one of a few managed by Budapest Guestbed. From my first inquiries, to help getting from the train station to the apartment, to my host waiting to greet me upon arrival, the gentlemen running Budapest Guestbed apartments could not have been more helpful. My host was very helpful and efficient in orienting me to the apartment, but also had maps and guides and materials of interest to my specific needs and interests that he had carefully managed to determine from my emails and inquiries. Throughout my stay in Budapest, my hosts were available and responsive, and clearly their interest was more than just my enjoyment of the apartment I rented, but also that I would enjoy all of my time in Budapest. Based on my very extensive tour of Budapest, I came to realize I was in the best part, for me. The area was clearly residential, but not touristy, yet a very short walk to the parliament, right on the river, easy access to the castle, a short walk to the island park, and fantastic local restaurants in the same block as the unit. I felt safe everywhere I went, as a single older traveler. The apartment itself is big and bright, slight view of the river, nice kitchen and bathroom, and a small living room or entry den. Even a clothes washer. This was the perfect place to stay if you want to be in Budapest, rather than the McDonalds version of it at some american chain hotel. The price was also very good and made my stay much easier. It was like staying at the apartment of friends. I look forward to my return and highly recommend the Painter apartment, and any property available through Budapest Guestbed apartments.
