Manuel Antonio villa

“Absolutely Beautiful!” The pictures truly do not do this place any justice. What a beautiful home and what an amazing view! You feel as if you are completely segregated from the world but still so close to everything. You will need a 4x4 vehicle to make it to the house but it is absolutely worth it! The house is primarily made of glass so you can see the view from anywhere in the house. My fiancé hates being woken up by light and usually needs the darkest of curtains to not be in a bad mood but even he was happy to wake up to that view. Luis, the house caretaker was very helpful, we had some issues arriving on time and even then he was so nice and understanding. This place is paradise, I highly recommend staying here. Trust me, you will not regret it!

“nuestro santuario” We rented Casa Libertad for the month of January, 2014. Elena responds promptly and professionally to correspondence and requests. The information she provided was accurate and complete. Upon our arrival, Elena and Elky immediately made us feel at home. Everything was as we imagined it to be only better. The road in is rough and very steep however, Elena's direction were spot on. We returned our rental car the day we arrived from San Jose. Elena graciously offered us a ride to drop off our rental car and gave us an orientation tour of Quepos shopping, restaurants, etc. The walk to town is about 20 minutes; taxis are about $4.00USD one way. Buses leave Quepos for Manuel antonio and beaches every half hour (7-7 / $0.60) so a vehicle isn't necessary. Elena will gladly help with tours, rentals, etc. where local knowledge is essential. Casa Libertad sits on a steep bluff over-looking the Pacific and Quepos boat harbor, away from the tourist crowds. There are just a few other houses on this dead end road in a pleasantly quiet and safe neighborhood. The grounds are nicely maintained with flowering plants and trees. There are lots of colorful tropical birds and occasionally monkeys come to visit. There is a small park at the bottom of the hill (15 min. walk) and swimming in the cove there is safe. A rustic trial from the casa also goes to the cove and is very steep. The casa has all modern conveniences and a fully equipped kitchen. The casa is comfortable, open, and clean. We sometimes awoke to the call of Howler monkeys. If anything comes up Elena lives across the street. The farmer's market is a treat. This is a special place - our sanctuary. Pura Vida.

“excellent!” It was your own one bedroom apt in the jungle. It had a full kitchen, bathroom, and a linai. It had a tv and telephone. Out side there was a pool and clothes line. The owner Hazel was nice and upon arrival gave us info we would need for our stay. Location: bus stop at end of block, near Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park.

“A perfect family Christmas holiday at Casa Brisas” Our family of 8: my husband, myself and our three grown children and their spouses were looking for a special Christmas destination this year, away from the cold of the Northeast and Canada, and couldn't have been more pleased that we found the perfect spot, Randy and Claudia’s Casa Brisas. This was the first trip to Costa Rica for all of us and we wanted opportunities for some adventures (like deep sea fishing, surfing and zip-lining) and also a comfortable place for some downtime, away from the crowds and bustle of beach towns. This beautiful home suited our needs perfectly. The setting is idyllic, with views over the Pacific, toucans and other birds in the trees, hammocks to lounge on for reading and a fantastic infinity pool ready to jump in day or evening. The house had 4 large private bedrooms, so each couple had at least a queen size bed and privacy. The decks, balconies and grounds gave everyone a chance to sit peacefully and read or go for a quiet walk. We had originially thought we would be going into town in the evenings for dinner, but in fact, it was so beautiful at the house that after a day’s adventures, we were happy to settle in, cook in the well-equipped kitchen, talk, star gaze, swim and relax. This was good, as the road down the hill into town is tough in the evening. I also cannot complete a note on the house without mentioning, as others have before me, how helpful Randy and Claudia were to our family. Starting with working with me months in advance on planning, Randy gave me many suggestions for tour operators for activities like deep sea fishing and zip-lining that I am glad we booked in advance, as Christmas week is busy. Randy met us at the airport, with the Toyota and escorted us down the coast. He really thought of everything, including had arranging to make sure we had some food in the house for breakfast the following morning. Randy was just a huge help keeping things on track when one of the couple’s flight was delayed and we had to arrange a taxi for them, Randy dealt with the drive and even went into town himself late in the evening to drive the late arrivers up to the house… Try getting service like that at a big hotel!! Having the option to use the Toyota SUV while at the house is a great perk too. My husband and I did rent a car and then used the kids used Toyota for transportation, so we were all able to head out on separate adventures when appropriate or have easy travel room for all 8 of us. Do rent an SUV or other 4 X 4, as you need it on the roads to up Casa Brisas (Randy had warned me). Do not hesitate to book this beautiful home, you’ll have a wonderful time and be glad you did.

Manuel Antonio villa

“Debra's 50th Birthday” By far one of the best vacations ever. Casa Espanola is a fabulous, upscale villa that is spacious, modern and clean. I traveled with a group of 20 people and everyone was in awe. I probably will never go to a hotel again after the Casa Espanola experience. The dining area was big enough for everyone, thus producing a total family vibe at mealtime. The rooms are big and the beds are huge. Chef Glenda and her daughter were the absolute best and the menu selections are just too many to name. The ride from SJO airport was 2 1/2 hrs but no one seemed to mind the long ride because it gave you an opportunity to sightsee. We also took the local bus in Manuel Antonio for about .67 cents....what a deal. I can't say enough about this fabulous place. I can't wait to go back. Thanks to Amy, Hazel and the staff at Casa Espanola.

Villa Vista Verde Top Vacation Rental

Manuel Antonio villa

“Villa Vista Verde lived up to our expectations!” Owner and his staff were all very helpful and prompt in helping us with our stay in this beautiful villa. All the comforts of home including a new Wi-Fi system that worked well for our family. The custom teak wood kitchen and staircase were awesome. We were greeted by monkeys and iguanas! In a gated community that is easy to find if you follow the owner's instructions. The dirt road through the palm plantation was in need of a grading due to the recent rains but always passible. The owner recommendations about things to do were very good. Thank you Bob and Lynn.

“Great property in a great location!” This charming property is tucked away in lush vegetation but convenient enough to take a 10 minute walk to the town of Quepos or a 10 minute taxi/bus ride to Manuel Antonio beach and the National Park. Upon arrival the property manager, Tom, pleasantly greeted us and assisted us with our luggage. He let us explore the property which was clean and spacious with a nice open flow throughout the property. Tom recommended a few locations for dining and entertainment and also drove us around town to point out things we might want/need to visit (grocerty store, bank, eateries, beach, etc.). Throughout our stay Tom called to check on us and offered assistance if we needed anything. There was also a basket of fresh local fruit for us to enjoy. The pool was well kept and the neighborhood was very quaint. The housekeeper was pleasant and did a great job keeping the place clean for us. I would definitely recommend this property for a relaxing getaway!

The Bali House on the Beach, best location by far!

Manuel Antonio villa

5 bedrooms / 7 bathrooms / sleeps 14

“The pictures do not do this place justice!” My husband and I and two other couples, stayed at the Bali House for one week and a week wasn't long enough! When looking at this home online, I thought it looked beautiful but when we arrived, the home and view took my breath away. From beginning to end, our stay at the Bali House was like a dream. Incredible service by the cleaning staff and most importantly, Fernando! Fernando cooked breakfast and dinner for us on multiple occasions and his meals were my favorite! There was nothing better than coming back from an excursion to jump into the infinity pool with a glass of wine and have Fernando put out his delicious appetizers before he set the table for dinner. The location of the home could not have been better. Everything you could need is a few seconds to minutes from the home- grocery store, restaurants, live music, shops, etc. If you're looking for some of the best drinks in town, there is a restaurant/bar at the top of the hill above the house called Raphael's. They make a mean mojito and white peniana (i butchered the spelling) and they are some of the friendliest people we met all week. Manuel Antonio is a short beach walk from the house and there are chairs for the beach already down in front of the house. Any of the staff at the house is more than happy to move the hammocks down to the beach as well. I found we loved being in the pool so much, we rarely hung out on the beach! Also, Fernando's daughter, Maria, was such a big help booking our excursions within 24 hours notice. We could call on either of them at any time and they were always so polite and helpful. If you rent a car, make sure it has 4 wheel drive because the house is at the bottom of a very steep hill. All taxi's and excursion pick up's can easily pick you up at your house though. In my opinion, there is no need to pay to visit Manuel Antonio National Park. You will see so much more wildlife at the Bali House than the park. Every day we had squirrel monkeys, white- faced monkeys, howler monkeys, lizards and beautiful birds visit us. Late afternoon seemed to be when all the monkeys came to play in the pool, so have a camera ready! We cannot wait to go back. You can't go wrong with the Bali House and it's worth every penny!!!

Eco Condos - Budget Friendly Apartments with lots of local wildlife visits!

Manuel Antonio apartment

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 5

“Great rooms and amazing service!” We stayed in a condo here for almost a week and had a very nice time. The units are spacious and clean and there are only 8 of them so the pool is never crowded. The monkeys will come right up to your balcony and peek in on you, and the place has a guarded gate at the entry 24 hours a day so everything is secure. The location is good as well, right between Quepos and Manuel Antonio so it's close to everything without being right in the middle of a crowded area. We left having had a very nice time and only discovered that we had left a laptop in one of the rooms after receiving an urgent email (we had no phone service) from Dorit, who manages the front office. We had already driven several hours away to our next hotel when we received the message, and were set to fly home a day later. I was afraid I would have to spend my entire day driving back to get the computer, but Dorit quickly and cheerfully arranged it so their driver would deliver the computer to us at our new hotel, 4 hours away (!), that next morning for a very reasonable fee - probably less than I would have spent in fuel if I made the trip to get it myself! They really went above and beyond and saved us a huge hassle and from having to waste our whole last day in the country driving back for the computer. I can't recommend this location highly enough, and the price for the rooms is great as well! Book it now!

House Neruda

Manuel Antonio house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 5

“Puts the "ahh" back in "awesome"” The following description can only begin to illustrate what a lovely place this is. Look at the pictures, it is actually as good as they promise. The house is beautifully situated on a hill side overlooking sea and forests. It is convenient as well as romantic. Our youngest spent a lot of time exploring new angels from which you could see through the house and the many balconies. From the house we saw - not glimpsed, but observed up close and for sometimes extended periods of time: A sloth, monkeys, armadillos, a giant toad, hummingbirds, lots of colorful birds, lizards, land crabs and a poisonous frog. All though we kept the doors and windows open night and day when we were home, we saw no unwelcome creatures inside the house. Only the geckos who hunted along the ceilings during the night. Howler monkeys howled when the sun set and rose. The area provided excellent possibilities for rest and recreation: We tried mangrove kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, white water rafting and zip-lining. All arranged by the care taker's daughter and all within 30 minutes drive from the house, where we were picked up for the tours. We walked the 10 minutes to the closest "secret" beach or drove for five minutes to get to the more public, but far from crowded, wide beach. Every night we ate at a new restaurant of which there are plenty within walking distance. Some nights we also drove the 10 minutes to Quepos, the nearest town. Any needs we might discover during our stay was taken immediately care of by the caretaker. The only drawback of the place is that it is inaccessible to people with disabilities. The price of the breathtaking view is a stair with exactly 100 rather breathtaking steps from the road to the door. All in all a very nice place to spend your holidays.

1B/1b Pete's Place C.R. Cottage

Manuel Antonio cottage

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Great Value!” We stayed at La Nina for a month from mid-January to mid-February. It is within a gated property, making it very secure. The cottage has a fully-equipped kitchen with all the utensils and appliances one needs to make meals. The appliances are fully functioning and sparkling clean. As a matter of fact, we made many dinners 'at home' because fresh fruits, veggies, meat and seafood are readily available from the supermarket only a few minutes from the cottage. The weekend farmers' market is not to be missed for those who love to cook. There is a small selection of dvds in the cottage. Bring your own and relax in the evenings with a beer or two, or a bottle of wine. You can also play music from your own device and enjoy! Although the daytime temperatures were higher than normal while we were there, the four ceiling fans kept the place cool and comfortable. If you really need to cool off, the swimming pool is the pièce de résistance! There is plenty of storage space in the bedroom. The ensuite bathroom is spacious. Alicia, the housekeeper, comes three times a week to clean and refresh towels and bed linens. Maxwell and Sascha, Pete's canine ambassadors, will always remind you of their presence albeit in the most unintrusive ways! For what we were asked to pay for the cottage, it is the best deal in town.

“Home away from Home” I have to apologize for being so late on my review as I was 8 months pregnant when we travelled and have since been busy with an infant This rental is exactly what we were looking for...affordable, comfortable, and centrally located. I travelled with my husband and two teenage boys. The boys shared the futon out in the living room and said it was perfect. The whole property inside and out is clean and well taken care of. Since you have to drive to the beach, it was so nice having a private pool right outside the door. We enjoyed the Iguana every morning and the family of monkey that came through on our last day there. Barry is very accommodating to your needs and it was such a pleasure to meet him. We would definitely stay here again! FYI...Barry likes to keep the place secure for your safety so the doors automatically lock when they close. On your first morning when you walk outside to take in the beauty, take your key with you :)

Shana Residences 320: Best Ocean Views & Location, Walk-to-Beach & Amenities!

Manuel Antonio apartment

2 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Magnificent, stunning visit to Manuel Antonio” My husband and I stayed at David Spivey's condo for Easter week. All of the reviews for this property are spot on. The views are breathtaking and the property is convenient to everything in MA. The thing that I appreciate most, however, was the space. With two teen girls, the condo gave all of us much needed privacy at the end of the day. I also appreciated how well-appointed it was, from the kitchen to the laundry facilities. The pictures don't do it justice. It's really a special place, and for the same price as a hotel in the area. I found it not only to be luxurious, but a great value to boot. Our concierge, Jonathan, was also extremely friendly, helpful and available to us during the stay. I can't thank David enough for allowing us to stay in this magical place and was glad I discovered it on TripAdvisor.

Casa Sandra: Spectacular Views Quality Furnishings

Manuel Antonio villa

“Casa Sandra a Dream Vacation and Experience!” My husband and I stayed here for four nights before continuing on to visit other areas of Costa Rica. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, upscale, comfortable home and the staff services were very accessible. All our needs were met and then some. The location is perfect for walking or catching a local bus or taxi. The area restaurants and the beaches are wonderful. The monkeys in the trees behind the house, along with the many and varied birds, were really a wonderful chance to be apart of this incredible country and its inhabitants. This home made the stay heavenly. We highly recommend for a couple or two couples or small family. Pura Vida!

Naturalist's Delight - Private, Secure Location

Manuel Antonio house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Everything in the listing was spot on - great location!” I found Casa Chalet to be a cozy and well-appointed teak cabin in the Manuel Antonio area rainforest. Located in a secure community, the chalet is a wonderful spot for wildlife, and Costa Rica is home to five per cent of the world’s biodiversity. From the front porch I was amazed to see during my week stay, three types of monkey, toucans, sloths, hummingbirds, coati mundi, scarlet macaws, dozens of species of decorated butterflies, and that is by no means the end of the list. The location is ideal for those who would prefer the wild animals to come to them rather than stand in line on a tour. The property is a short walk to the busy town of Quepos, but extremely quiet at night, with the exception of cicadas, birds, and the occasional howler monkey! The beach at Manuel Antonio National Park – rated the most beautiful beach in Central America in a Trip Advisor survey, is a 15-minute bus ride from a stop near the community entrance. Featuring a huge Jacuzzi and laundry service, Casa Chalet is ideal for honeymoon couples and romantic getaways. I stayed as a single, and thoroughly enjoyed the huge bathroom, too. Plus, the owner is very attractive and fun!

“Great views, spacious comfort, expert help” Our family had a wonderful time at Villa azul for our Christmas holiday week. My husband and I stayed on the upstairs floor, which included a spacious living and kitchen area and a bedroom mezzanine. Our grown-up children stayed in the stand-alone apartment on the first level. Each level had a deck with stunning views stretching to the ocean. The house was clean and stocked with all the essentials. A major perk was the villa's gracious owner, Jean, who helped us plan amazing Costa Rica activities in advance. He also set up transportation to and from the San Jose airport, made our tour reservations, and set up reliable drivers to the tours. A full-service host! A great selection of restaurants are just 10 to 15 minutes walking distance from the villa, and an ample grocery store is only a few blocks away. We're glad we resisted renting a car; parking is tight and the roads are narrow. And it was much better to experience the town by foot or via readily available taxis or the convenient bus. We recommend Cafe Milagro as a great breakfast spot and Barba Roja for dinner (great ribs and amazing view over the ocean, get there for happy hour + sunset). We highly recommend the Manuel antonio National Park tour (with guide), the canopy zip-line experience, and the mangrove boat excursion. Jean will help you pick the best tours and guides. And, yes, from our decks we saw monkeys in the nearby trees, and many amazing birds. Plus there were no mosquitoes! Lovely Villa azul and all of Jean's expert help made our unforgettable Costa Rica getaway even more special.

“Great rental house with all the comforts of home..” The ride up the hill is a fun little adventure in itself (You will need a 4x4). The house was amazing. Beautiful design and layout. It was just my wife and I but there is easily room for several couples in this place. Very nice & fitting décor. Fully functioning kitchen with all the things needed to cook there. A "Maxi Pali" right down the road (their version of Walmart). We cooked at least one of our meals there every day. The house to very close to some of the best fishing I`ve ever encountered (10 minutes into Quepos, the Mecca for world class fishing). Went fishing 2 days while there. Caught a 350-400lb Blue Marlin, 125lb Sailfish & a 150lb Sailfish as well. The caretakers, Vern & Anna were very nice and even made us take some groceries from their place to hold us over for the evening because it`s a little tricky going up and down the mountain your first couple times especially in the dark. There is a ton of wildlife around the house as well. We saw a huge group of little monkeys, some type of what looked to be an Eagle, seemed like millions of gorgeous colorful birds and all types of large lizards too. I will be traveling to this area as often to fish as I can and I`ll definitely stay here again if it`s available for the dates I need. Thank you guys for offering such a nice house.

“Amazing house, Amazing views, Amazing wildlife” We rented this house for a week and I wish we could have stayed longer. The house sits up on a hill with amazing views of town and the ocean. You can walk to everything you would need: store, restaurants, beach, tourist attractions, tours. If you don't feel like walking there is a site manager that can call a taxi or help you set up tours, he is very helpful. The house itself offers a living/reading room, dining room, kitchen (with everything you could need), three decks that offer amazing views, and a bedroom that makes you feel like you are staying in the middle of the wildlife. Plus free wifi. There is a property manager on site at all times who can help you with anything you might need. If you are planning to go to the Manuel antonio area I really recommend staying here, Julie is very responsive to emails and requests, it was a very easy and pleasant process to rent the house. You have a whole house to yourself in the heart of the city and it is cheaper than staying at a resort. From the deck of the house we saw frogs, monkeys, toucans, all sorts of other animals we had a fun time looking up.

Paradise!

Wonderful first impressions. Easy to follow directions then a warm welcome. Well designed and furnished, with nice personal touches. The views are incredible from both the apartment and the pool. We counted over 30 species of birds. Including the big ones Macaw and Toucan. Where the sites grounds are well managed, there is little in the way of mosquitoes or other creepy crawlies. David and René gave terrific advice on restaurants, ordered taxis and drove across town to retrieve a lost passport! I can't thank these fellas enough for that!see more

Beautiful house in paradise

The house is stunning - exactly as depicted on the website. The location is unique and perfect...on the top of a hill in the tropical forest with views over forest and palm plantations to the Pacific Ocean. The sunsets are stunning. The location is very private. Troops of squirrel monkeys passed by the house while we were there, and the sounds of tropical birds filled the air. There are two decks (one on each story of the house) and a private pool on the lower deck. The drive from the gatehouse at the front of the property to the house is about 10 minutes over hilly gravel roads. We had no problems with this (both in the day and at night), but a four wheel drive vehicle is recommended (these are very easy to rent in Costa Rica). Brian, our host, was extremely helpful. He met us at the gatehouse (having patiently waited as we were late) and escorted us to the house. He toured us around the house and gave us great tips about things to do in the area (he knows it well); he is happy to book these activities on behalf of his guests. He called us during our stay to make sure that everything was going well and encouraged us to call him at any time - a terrific guy. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and we hope to go back. The house, the area and the people and landscape of Costa Rica are marvelous.see more
