“New River Ramble” This was a great time for the entire family. We attended the ASU football game, but until that time we enjoyed all the amenities of the home. The New River, the fire pit, the hot tub, the game room, the bicycles, etc. were enjoyed by everyone. This place has everything you could imagine you would need. We will be back! :)

PANORAMIC VIEWS: Kilkelly's 'WEST WING' Condo

Boone apartment

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms
  • sleeps 6

“Home away from home” I own my own business, so any time away is especially precious. Kilkelly's West Wing Cottage was the perfect fit. Unlike the institutional feel of a hotel room, the West Wing is like a home away from home. Immediately, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with every possible item anyone would need, even a tea kettle and grill accessories for the gas grill. The commercial like ice maker was an unexpected surprise. They even provided a small cooler for day trips. Normally in a hotel room, I am loathe to touch anything and notice the dirt and traces of previous guests. Immediately you can see how clean and welcoming the West Wing is - I had no hesitation using any of the amenities. We are very picky travelers and the West Wing exceeded our expectations. The breakfast casserole was so good I even got the recipe! There are several televisions with satellite, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc - available but we never even turned them on. It was so relaxing enjoying the sunrise, sunset and mountain views, we had no need for the outside world. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend the West Wing! :)

Chestnut Lodge

Boone log cabin

  • 3 bedrooms
  • 3 bathrooms

“Comfortable and spacious” The Chestnut Lodge was a comfortable, clean and spacious house and we loved it. Each bedroom had a bathroom which was great for us and the living area was so comfortable. The house was located on a very high mountain and the road leading up to it was very windy and steep. A little off the beaten trail, but not too bad. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals were a pleasure to work with. Would definitely use them again!

BREATHTAKING VIEWS at Kilkelly's CABIN

Boone log cabin

“The best of the best” I have been visiting and staying in rental places in Western NC for many years and the Kilkelly Cabin has no peer. The cabin is perfect and the views other worldly but the best part of the experience are the hosts. Joanie and Gary made sure our stay was more than we ever could have imagined. We celebrated my son's graduation from App St, my Mom's 80th birthday and Mother's Day all in one spectacular long weekend. It literally could not have been better. 5 stars are not nearly enough. Thanks Joanie and Gary. We'll be back

“Quiet and Beautiful View” The home is located up on the mountain, quiet, beautiful in colors in October. Christmas trees all about, deers sighted, yard to enjoy, hiking the road with dogs is great. Many different attractions are about if interested in sightseeing. Road is quite rough but tolerable.

“The house and setting allowed us to relax and get away from the” My wife and I spent a relaxing 3 weeks at the Crest. The setting is beautiful and the house is quite comfortable. We spent our time reading and taking day trips to nearby towns and attractions and our city dogs loved being able to roam around the woods off-lead. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife around the house such as deer and a wild turkey. The cool air and mountain vistas were quite a treat for flatlanders such as us who normally endure the misery of august in south Louisiana.

“Phenomimal vacation home, something for every age group.” Our family of 14, children and grandchildren had a wonderful time. The home is well equiped in the kitchen, etc. Our family had a wonderful time using all the entertainment in the house, enjoying the sunshine overlooking the mountains and having a home we could all stay in comfortably. They would like to make it a tradition. Thank you to the home owners for furnishing the home so nicely and making sure we had everything we needed. We were even welcomed by a family member who graciously offered his help if we needed it.

“Spectacular sunsets” The view from the deck is worth a million dollars. Waking uo to the sound of wild turkeys was a bonus. The cabin location is very easy to find and convenient to everything in Boone and Banner Elk. The cabin was a little dusty, the bathrooms were not luxurious, and the master bedroom bed needs attention (tighten bolts and replace the mattress). Also, the front doorknob needs to be replaced. However, these things did not prevent us from having a wonderful time. I would consider staying there again. It is simply a beautiful location.

4J Getaway

“April Fools” Cozy and comfortable! If that is what you are looking for, 4J is the perfect destination for you. The bedrooms are extremely spacious, there is an extra sitting room in the loft, and having the living room and kitchen attached offered us the perfect place for family time. It is beautifully decorated, and the host family has added personal touches which really make you feel welcome! You will love it! It is located about 15 minutes from the main street of Blowing Rock which offers some wonderful little shops, local-fair restaurants, and an incredible ice cream and fudge shop! There is also a fun playground for little ones! We do suggest four-wheel drive for this trip! We also think a spring or summer trip would be more fun for the outdoorsman. April Fools got us; it snowed the entire weekend!

About Boone

High up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the town of Boone is one of the most visually appealing areas in North Carolina. With its mountain scenery and friendly locals, Boone is a great place to make your home as you explore western North Carolina. The main street in the town is King Street, a long strip full of boutique shopping and fine-dining options.

While you're in Boone, check out some of these main attractions:

  • Blue Ridge Parkway: This national parkway runs for almost 500 miles along the Blue Ridge Mountains and the beautiful scenery makes for a great afternoon drive.
  • Daniel Boone Native Gardens: Open from May to October, these gardens host a collection of plants and flowers that are native to North Carolina.
  • Howard's Knob: With an elevation of over 4,000 feet, this mountain provides great views of the town of Boone.
  • Tweetsie Railroad: This railroad oriented theme park has amusement rides and the chance to ride on an authentic steam locomotive.
  • Eli Knob State Park: Located just outside of Boone, this park has over 1,800 acres for recreational use and is open throughout the year.

Boone has a surprisingly large number of events throughout the year for such a small town, making the area full of people and activity no matter when you visit. Named after the famous pioneer and explorer Daniel Boone who regularly camped in the area, the town puts on a performance about his life every year at its outdoor amphitheater. Some other noteworthy events include Sugarfest at Sugar Mountain, the Boone Christmas Parade, and the Appalachian Summer Festival.

Whether you're looking to explore the great outdoors or just relax and unwind, there's a vacation rental in Boone that's right for you. In addition to luxury condos or apartment rentals by the main drag of town and, it's also possible to rent a spacious cabin with the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains right out your window.

A High Country Retreat
Awesome experience

Our family came together to celebrate my daughters' graduation from ASU. There were 10 of us...We had a blast. This was so much better than 5 individual motel rooms. The house was clean and neat and spacous and well laid out. The zoned AC worked well. We were glad we had been warned about the winding, curvy road and steep driveway We sat around the dining room table for 12 and talked and talked and talked. We sat on the deck and talked and talked and talked. The bedrooms were gorgeous and the space immense. We had contests playing pool, shuffleboard, foosball and air hockey. We watched movies, read, relaxed and sat in the hot tub. We spent 18 minutes trying to lock doors and turn o ff the shower. We grilled. We laughed and we cried. We had a very, special long weekend. Not only was my daughter valedictorian of her class, she also got engaged. We were greatly blessed.see more
