Creek side cottage is truly Paradise Found!
The first thing we noticed was that when we pulled in and got out of our car, the temperature was at least 10-15 degrees cooler than the main road. This is something you really appreciate in July. There was a fantastic breeze that made you want to spend most of your time outdoors.
The roaring creek right outside the spacious deck that has entrances from the master and living room was exceptional. The creek was amazing, with a large flat rock to sit on and dip your feet, if so inclined. Lots of mini waterfalls made the creek lovely to look at and listen to. The house is located in such a peaceful area, but very easy to access.
The master bedroom was quite large. Rustic rough hewn wood walls in living room with fireplace made the living room cozy with a mountainous feel. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare your own meals. The cottage even has a dishwasher, washer, and dryer, which is always handy when traveling.
Outdoor conversation areas abound, with lots of benches and great landscaping.
Detached garage with game room is the perfect place to relax, with lots of games and activities. The game room area seemed almost as big as the house itself. Parking is fantastic, with room for several cars and a garage slot under the house, as well.
Wildlife sightings were abundant. Seeing rabbit, squirrel, beaver, and elk were not uncommon during our visit. The cabin is in the heart of Maggie Valley, very near Cataloochee, and just a few minutes drive to Waynesville, Cherokee, and the Great Smoky Mountains. The home is very easily accessible with no treacherous roads and would be ideal for winter guests. This cabin is perfect for nature lovers, hikers, skiers, hunters, golfers,...
