Banner Elk house

5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Clean with Great Entertainment Features” I booked this rental for a long weekend trip with friends. We LOVED it. Because of the number of people/couples in our party, we needed several bedrooms with combinations of single and double beds and it worked out great. Since it rained for a good part of the weekend, we enjoyed the pool table and the ping pong table. The rental was also conveniently located to the ski resorts. Due to the weather, we didn't get to use the campfire area or the hot tub, but they looked nice as well.

GORGEOUS VIEW OF THE BLACK MTNS! CLOSE TO TOWN.

Burnsville house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Relax and enjoy the view and the art” This place was so relaxing, rejuvenating and beautiful! Lovely house with all you need. The deck is awesome for enjoying the view, sunning, grilling. You are surrounded by not only mountains but by artist studios throughout the area on the Toe River Studio Tour. Claudia and John were very helpful and all of our contact with them was enjoyed. They can guide you to wonderful hiking locations too. It was so cool to see them at work in their studios creating art. Their studios are in walking distance from the house.

Enjoy The Beautiful Lake and Mountain Views from every room of the house!

Lake Lure cottage

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Huge house, excellent location” The house is very well maintained and beautiful inside out. I stayed with my girlfriend for the weekend in June. It is close to Asheville and just few minutes from Lake Lure & Chimney rock. The house has 3 BR and 2bath which can easily accomodate 3 couples(6 people). It has good size Samsung TV that one can watch movies on with a glass wine in the living room. I recommend to take your tablet and chromecast so you can stream movies on the TV. I 100% recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a getaway in the mountains or the Lake. I will definitely stay here agan and will recommend all my friends.. Melanie(the owner) is easy/fast to get in touch with via text/phone, although we didn't had any issue to contact her but as soon as I entered the house, I was so impressed that I texted to thank her and she replied back immediately:-).

Cabin in the Clouds

Black Mountain house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Awesome view, great value” We spent 3 nights at the cabin and loved it. We had a bit of trouble figuring out that the street that has a sign calling it E. State Street is Old US 70, but once we figured that out, we got the hang of finding our way to the cabin. I wouldn't suggest making the drive for the 1st time in the dark. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the back porch every day for the amazing sunset. Despite having only 1 bedroom, the cabin feels bigger due to the open kitchen/dining/living space. We didn't cook but the appliances and kitchen seemed well equipped. I did have to contact the owner because I couldn't get the tv to display any channels. Unfortunately he didn't return my call (I left a voicemail) and I called again the next day. When I reached Larry the next day, he put me in touch with a local caretaker and I was able to resolve the issue over the phone. It might be helpful for the owner to leave a back up local number if for some reason you can't reach him. In this case, it was a minor issue so no problem. Overall, I would highly recommend this cabin as it is exactly as described.

“Just a Great Place” We got to the cabin and were tired, we got ready to make coffee and realized we would have to go to the store to get some cream. Opened the fridge an Muffi had stocked some cream (Moo Moo Minis). I tell this story because it is the way things seemed to go for the next few days. So many of our needs were met and anticipated. The "eye candy" of the cabin was just grand, the craftsmanship superb, windows in unusual places, high quality windows, and very clean, very quiet neighborhood, easy parking, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Biltmore. Very nicely done, As Arnold S. says "I'll be back"

Sharon Spring Wellness Retreat Ashville Mountains

Fairview log cabin

“Relaxing and rejuvinating” My husband, six month old daughter and I spent the weekend here in May. It was outstanding. Kendall, the owner, was warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped out of the car. She provided us with maps of her property, which you can hike and explore. We especially enjoyed the koi pond and just sitting on the porch swing. The views are amazing from the porch and deck. The cabin is in Fairview, NC which is about 20 minutes away from Asheville. It is the perfect location, far enough away to feel as if you are the only ones around, but close enough to downtown to run in for dinner. You don't have to, however, because there is a restaurant, The Local Joint, about 5 minutes away. They have a variety of local food and organic entrees. Excellent. Kendall is a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor. We were able to get massages for both my husband and myself, which were fantastic. I also opted to take a private yoga lesson, which was awesome. I am a super-beginner, and she was able to make the class both on my level and enjoyable. We got the "relaxation weekend" which I highly recommend. The massage and yoga class (or sauna treatment) come with the cabin price. There is a hot tub which we were unable to use (because we needed to watch the baby), but looked very inviting. Overall, I would give this vacation spot 5 stars, more if I could!

“More than we expected, we will be back!” This is the perfect place to get away! We came in at night and I was nervous because I know how picky my boyfriend is about staying away from home. It was very clean the pictures don't do it justice. The hot tub was great. The inside was spacious. Chimney Rock was just down the road. We did a day of shopping and climbed all the way to the top of Chimney Rock and all the trails and came back and spent some much needed time in the hot tub and massage chair. The owners were right upstairs and we talked with them they were so nice however we couldn't tell there was anyone upstairs unless we went to them. I can't wait to go back!!! I need the sound of the river to put me to sleep again!

“Awe Inspired!” The cabin was wonderful. The Bison feeding was so much fun ,one of the Alpha males had such an assured look in his eyes it was almost regal. The bison burgers were to die first! While in the hotbed which is really nice BTW, we looked up and the sky looked like God himself filled the entire sky thick with glitter that's how many stars there were. When my dog went out here came the grey mini pony and my dog licked it's nose, I think they wanted to elope....LOL The Mtn Goats & Liamas were fun as well. We couldn't remember the last time we were so relaxed. We love Bison Overlook Lodge & we will be back!

Hot tubs all Year, on the River in Bat Cave NC & Massage Chairs, Fire Place

Bat Cave cottage

“Nice and Cozy” We had a great time during Spring Break 2014. We wanted to do something a little different with grandkids this year, and this Cottage was perfect. (We normally go to Gatlinburg) Cottage sits right on the river with the deck actually out over the river. Hot tub was well taken care of and located where we had a nice view of the river. We didn't realize we had scheduled opening day of trout fishing season, but we took advantage, and my son caught several nice fish right on the property. I enjoyed the fact that the cottage is a part of history, (Former Bat Cave Post Office), yet everything was updated with new fixtures and electronics. The beds slept great, and the grand kids loved the game room. Chimney Rock State Park and little downtown area are just a few minutes from the cottage on the same road. We were a little concerned about available dining close by, but were pleasantly surprised with the variety of options. Also used the available stainless Weber grill on the deck. I am certain we will return later in the summer. The owners were very nice, and made us feel like we were appreciated. Overall a very nice and relaxing vacation. (The massage chair was a bonus when I could get the kids out of it)

“Much needed rest and relaxation.” The chalet was a lovely, cozy get away, with an amazing view of the Smokey Mountains. Maggie Valley is close to many places, such as Cherokee and asheville. Waynesville is a quaint little town that everyone should visit. I would recommend Maggie Valley to anyone that would like a quiet, relaxing vacation. We were there after many of the Mom and Pop places were closed, but the ones we were able to visit were worth it. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We definitely will be returning to Maggie Valley and The Chalet in the Valley. Thank you Leisa Munce.

“Absolutely Relaxing” This cabin is so relaxing to stay at. The sound of the river right outside puts you to sleep at night. We slept with the windows open all nite. The Pictures do not do this cabin justice. The stone walls are something to behold. The kitchen has every appliance and utensil you could ever use all you need is your food. The beds are comfortable. The owners have gone out of their way to make sure you know of all the local area hiking, boating and restaurants that are available in the area. We really would love to stay here again. “Wonderful historic home, beautifully decorated and spacious enough to host many guests.” It was a dream come true to stay in a historical home. The property was tastefully decorated and maintained the feel from an earlier era, but yet had all of the modern conveniences we enjoy today. It was a joy to wind up the driveway each day line by the rock wall to the spacious home that awaited us. The nights were cool enough to doze of to sleep each evening by the warmth of the fire place. And the accommodations and rooms were ample enough to have family and friends as overnight guest without feeling squeezed for space. Further, we hosted several more guests for multiple dinners with ease. The spacious home provides inviting places inside and out for parties to dine and recline. The owner of the home Julie has thought of everything. Can't wait to return.

“So many awesome things to do and relaxation time all rolled up i” Such a wonderful cabin away from it all, yet things close enough for adventure. Cabin was clean, with great space. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils to be able to cook meals. Hot tub was perfect for chilly nights. Shirley was a great host, always keeping communication open before and during our stay. She was getting ready to leave the cabin right as we were arriving, yet she took the time to meet us, give us a tour of the cabin, give us details of dining and things to do in the area, and answer any questions we had. For us Floridians it was an adventure just driving on the winding roads and one night in snow for the first time! Exploring around the cabin was great. So peaceful and wonderful nature on the trail and the creek was great. We did zip lining at Canopy Ridge Farms which the speed and views were breathtaking. New Years Eve was spent roasting hot dogs and marshmallows by the outdoor fire pit. My son, 16, and I went rock climbing for over four hours on Rumbling Bald, doing four different routes with Fox Mountain guided tours, while my husband and daughter, 11, did a guided hike through part of Rumbling Bald. Went to the Biltmore Estates Candlelight tour. Was really beautiful and would recommend getting the audio guide if doing a self-guided tour. The North Carolina arboretum had an awesome Lego display with life size creations of animals, people and flowers. There was also fresh snow in the parking lot so my daughter was able to make her first little snowman! My son did one of the biking trails their and really enjoyed it. He also enjoyed riding his bike down the driveway of the cabin! Also enjoyed doing some shopping in Chimney Rock. Dining was great at Phil's BBQ in Black Mountain, La Strada, fancy Itailian in Lake Lure, and Ole's Guacamole in Black Mountain. All the adventure and food were within 20-50 minutes of the cabin which was perfect. Wishing we could of stayed for another week to relax more and do so many of the other adventures provided!!!

“Beautiful, extremely comfortable, would go back again!!!” My family and I stayed for 8 days and could not have asked for a more comfortable, clean well-built cabin to spend our vacation. The views were beautiful especially the sunrise in the morning over the deck. There were six of us, all adults, and the house was large enough that we all had our own space when needed. We were close to trout fishing, zip lining and water rafting. One of the things that stood out to me was the quality of the furnishings from the bedding, linens to all of the kitchen ware. The whole cabin has been decorated with taste and quality. My family enjoyed the hot tub every night. We grilled on the deck, made smores over the fire pit. It was truly a wonderful vacation that was made even more memorable by the cabin itself. I would definitely go back again and hope to!!!

Cloud 9 Relaxation-Mountaintop Views-Hot Tub-Peace and Quiet

Asheville house

3 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“This was glorious!” My family convened from all over the U.S., to gather in Asheville for a reunion. Many of the cousins rented homes, but none were as perfect as Cloud 9 Relaxation. Everything about the house was comfortable and beautiful. We spent time on the large deck looking at the mountains in the distance and watching the humming birds close at hand. We used the hot tub, and Janet arranged for us to build a fire outside on our last night there. My adult children ere very engaged in learning about her bee keeping, fresh eggs for breakfast and the blueberry fields. Their interest in our hostess' knowledge of farm to table dining and conserving the land gave them a learning experience.. Our memories will last a lifetime. And, we will return!

“Wonderful Home - Great Location!!!!” My husband and I stayed in this beautiful home for 5 weeks from 5-19-14 to 6-23-14. We were totally satisfied with the home - very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and has beautiful views. The location was perfect being only a quarter mile from the main road and in the center of all the exploring that we had planned. The owners were great to deal with, and handled any issues right away (we only had a couple minor issues during the entire 5 weeks). We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area - no need to look elsewhere.

Peaceful Romantic Asheville Cottage Hot Tub, Wi-Fi

Asheville house

“Cozy Cottage” We stayed at the lovely Red Gate Cottage in November for 4 days. It was perfect for 6 girlfriends on a get away. It has everything you could possibly need and the grocery is just down the road. We were unable to utilize the fire pit because of the burning ban but the fireplace was on while we were there and it just made it all the more cozy. There is so much to do in the Asheville area. We spent 3 days visiting the Biltmore during their Christmas event which was money well spent, but there is so much more to do there and the Red Gate Cottage is central to it all. Georgia was so thoughtful with the wine, cookies and leaving the lights on for our after dark arrival. The only downfall is that there are not mountain views but everything else is absolutely perfect. We'll look forward to staying here again in a heartbeat!

Elegant Downtown Home, 4 Min to Biltmore Estate

Asheville house

“Warm, charming home and hostess!” Our sons live in asheville, and we had wanted to stay there for Christmas for a couple of years. The one non-negotiable amenity was a fireplace---Green Gables has 3! The home is lovely, and our hostess Georgia even more so. When she discovered a few hours before our arrival that we would be celebrating Christmas the next day, she redecorated the house with wreaths and a small lighted tree, set out wine and cookies, and addressed every member of our party by name in a welcome note. We were very impressed with the level of attention she gives her guests, personally taking care of all the details from booking to follow-up emails. The house is cozy and comfortable, with an old-fashioned soaking tub, gas range, large-screen TV, electronics, internet access, laundry facilities, wonderful beds...just like home, only better! We had fun cooking in the well-equipped kitchen with goodies we bought at the local food co-op. The house is close to downtown, and in better weather we could easily walk to many places we like to go in asheville. We visited the Biltmore Estate, the Southern Craft Guild shop, rode on the Blueridge Parkway, and of course had chocolate extravagance at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge. Doc Chey's restaurant on Biltmore Street provided perfect chicken soup for our son who was under the weather. (It was so good, we revisited the next day for lunch.) Georgia provides a large book with information on all these, which helped us plan our days. We have stayed for shorter periods of time in asheville over the past few years, always in hotels. Our week at Green Gables has cured us of that, and we will stay in our new "home in the mountains" whenever we can in the future!

“Multi use - Motorcycle & family get togehter” OK where do I start ? this is a great place to stay no matter the circumstances. However, I do want to focus on the motorcycle traveler. The owners were extremely quick to respond and very helpful in explaining the driveway situation (in the mountains traveling with a motorcycle or like us a motorcycle small trailer and large pick up truck can be an issue.) Drive thru really? it was Perfect!!! The area is supreme...blue ridge, several routed day rides and of course the infamous "Motorcycle of Time" museum, interesting for all. We were lucky enough to meet family who traveled from Charlotte, NC the kids had a great time. The home is extremely comfy and the porch is to die for. Bring some vittles cause you won't need anything, else this is the most well equipped place I have ever stayed in! Thanks so much!!! “Wonderful home base for our Motorcyle adventures in the Smokies” Tom and Sue were most helpful from the pre start of the trip to our leaving this beautiful mountain side cabin. Having rented several houses in the past across the US and Canada I can adamantly speak to the quality of the cabin and the helpfulness of the owners. I sent an email in January enquiring about the cabin and received a phone call back from Tom immediately. (Saturday Night)! Sue actually did some grocery shopping for our arrival as we travelled by Motorcycle's. They actually gave us a birthday cake as 2 of our group had a birthday that week! Tom dropped off a bucket and towels so we could keep the Harleys shined up... The cabin had all the amenities that were required during our week in the Valley..and all three couples were extremely impressed with the amenities and quality of the cabin. The hot tub was fabulous after a long day of riding adventures along the twists and turns of North Carolina and Tennessee great roads....all Motorcycle enthusiasts must go to Magee V. and the Smokies and see for yourself the beauty of this part of the USA. Great Restaurants are also available near by ...we enjoyed Frankie's so much we dined there twice. This was our 4th trip to MV on Motorcycles and not our last..... Regards from Canada Great Job!
