“A beautiful and renewed experience” We try and come every year at Country and Lake, during Eastern holidays. The beauty of the surroundings, the cosiness of the house, the warm welcome of Saskia and Onny, everything is great. Staying there makes beautiful memories.

“A perfect cottage in which to feel at home.” This is a perfect cottage in which to feel at home whilst exploring the south west of Iceland. The views across the lake and to the surrounding hills are very special. It is well equipped and has a spacious living area and I would recommend paying the small extra fee for use of the hot tub after a day's trekking in the mountains or driving around the fjords. Iceland's highest waterfall, Glymur, is nearby and is well worth the walk. Haukur and anna Lisa, the hosts, are very helpful and friendly and we very much enjoyed our time in their summerhouse.

“A relaxed escape to the country” If you have never been to Loch Ness and the surrounding areas, Alex & Janet's little hideaway is absolutely perfect as a base. No detail was overlooked: directions, Welcome pack of biscuits & chocolates which our kids loved, Separated packs of information with walks and local interests, even dog treats they understand hospitality to the letter. A home from home you only need to bring some food or pop to Tesco/Asda which was a reasonable 20miles ish at Inverness. The location was perfect we were within reach of Inverness, Fort agustus and the Fall of Foyers, which was our primary visit, and on a clear night which we were lucky to have one the night sky is something to see. If you are a family looking for walks we found that the forestry commission walks were best as they were marked out by difficulty and colour coded posts throughout the chosen walk (avoids embarrassing moments of getting lost). For us it was a break to escape the typical 'busy' life and a chance to reconnect with each other as a family with some board games (take some) and country air.

“Amazingly beautiful apartment!” This apartment is a true gem! Everything you need to feel at home is at your disposal, a visit to the massage reclining chair right before bed is just a bonus!!! You can't beat the location either to be in walking distance of the center of the beautiful city of Rotterdam... My wife, our 3 kids and I truly enjoyed our stay and felt right at home!

“Fantastic, Tranquil Holiday Experience” Pat and Annette really have a stunning Lodge Resort. The lodge is placed near a lake, has stunning views, and the lodge it self has all the creature comforts of home and is very comfortable. The location is central to all the local tourist attractions, and Pat and Annette have developed a book recommending all the best places to visit while in the area. With boats, donkey rides for the kids, fishing and a quaint little pool hall in the centre of the lodge, Mount Cashel is far better than any hotel. I would highly recommend this property to my friends and certainly will be coming back to stay again, the main reason being that it is so peaceful, welcoming and homely.

“A holiday to remember!” We came to stay in Lochleven Seafood Cottage in april. There were ten of us staying, and we all instantly fell in love with the cottage as soon as we stepped inside. It was really clean and tidy, and well kept. The views of the loch were outstanding from the living room, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The cottage was very well equipped, so there's no need to bring anything extra. The location of the cottage is also ideal, about twenty minute's drive from Glencoe and Fort William. We were able to travel to somewhere different everyday, but also enjoy some lovely walks and mountain treks just outside the cottage. The service for the cottage was also incredible - I texted the supervisors about a blocked drain and they instantly sent someone within the same morning. All in all a great holiday!

“Stunning accomodation for a relaxing break.” The Lodge at Ketton Park has been superbly designed and furbished for a luxurious break. The owners Mike & Carol went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed without being at all intrusive. Excellent hosts!Loved the breakfast pack (still had some left after 4 days!)Lovely location and as we are bird watchers and golf players we were quite spoilt. 4 golf courses close by, one overlooking the beautiful Rutland water(all very reasonable and welcoming) Woodpecker always seemed in the garden!Too many species to mention but watched a Kite on several occasions. Osprey visits Rutland water during the season! Make sure you visit the owl sanctury close by well worth the short trip. Fascinating many old world villages close by for finding something different, with plenty of choice in restaurants and pubs. Mike and Carol have really done their homework well with all the info you will need at your fingertips at the lodge. Thouroughly Recommended, hope to visit again. John & Marilyn.

“All the comfort of a classy hotel with privacy and independence” We stayed at this unique and recently refurbished property over Christmas to first week in January. Standard of facilities and amenities provided is truly first class. Excellent location, with easy access from the main E4, yet far enough north to convince children close to Santa Claus and the elves! Local scenery is breathtaking. Brisk temperatures outside more than matched by the the warmth of the hospitality of the hosts - that and the cosy log fire! Price was very competitive. Highly recommended.

“A delightful haven on the beautiful Isle of Skye” This was our fifth family summer holiday to Skye and having had a disappointing cottage last year, we were keen to find a property that was as good as the one we had rented in previous years. The three of us were not disappointed by what we saw when opening the front door. The cottage was everything we could have wanted. It was clean, superbly furnished and had all the things necessary to make a holiday enjoyable. The views from the lounge were amazing. It was lovely to watch the changing scenery and wildlife from the comfort of a warm cottage. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and we liked having the two bathrooms between us. In previous years we have stayed in Broadford, so it was good to have a more central place from which to explore the island. We even managed to visit some new area's this time. The booking process was really efficient and queries were dealt with almost by return. The owners also rang us to check that everything was to our satisfaction, which was a nice touch. Comments in the visitors book were all very complimentary. Overall, a fantastic cottage, lovely hospitality and a great holiday. We will be booking shortly for next year.

“Family is forever.” Paddy is the most gracious host, the house was clean and well stocked with all the amenities we needed. All the rooms were spacious and the kids loved climbing the rocks in the back. What a view. I should write a terrible review so the house will be available at a cheaper rate next year but I can't. Beautiful house and great local, loved it. Jim G

“Fantastic accomodation in a beautiful location” The owners were extremely helpful in organising our weekend break. Gruinyards far exceeded our expectations, everything from the bottle of wine down to the candles in the bathroom were a lovely touch. The location was amazing and the website does not do justice to the view over the loch.

“Great place to stay for families!” This was our first summer holiday with our 2 year old son and our hosts provided us with a cot and a high chair for him. We were happy to find that the place was safe (sturdy banister, switches for plugs and oven, boilers in separate rooms) for a - supervised - small child and can recommend it without reserve for families (Being only in three, we used of course not all rooms). The cottage is located in a beautiful spot and we really enjoyed the clean, breezy air and the great views of both the seaside and the surrounding mountains.

“Beautiful House, Magnificent Setting” This house certainly has the wow factor when you walk in. If you are looking for a private Ireland holiday home then this is it. Can't even describe the magnificent views that you see from the many large windows. Bright, spacious, clean and comfortable. Loved being able to do laundry and hang it out to dry in the sunshine. Spent many hours relaxing on the patio. Cooked several meals and had everything we needed. Had a cozy peat fire every evening. Kathleen and Timmy made sure we were settled in and had everything we needed-they are just super-nice people! We particularly enjoyed the Skellig Ring which was only 20min or so away and then over to Valentia Island and going up to Fogher Mtn. Also enjoyed Derrynane, shopping in Sneem and Caherciveen and the drive to Hogshead. A good daytrip was going to Beara Pennisula, shopping in Kenmare and visiting Glenquiliquin (many good hikes). I wish I had asked Katheen earlier in the week about what pubs to visit for local performances. This house far exceeded our expectations and I feel very lucky to have been able to stay here!
