“Great family retreat with a great view.” This house is situated high enough that you have a great view of the mountain ranges out the great room windows. Enjoyed the large deck and gas grill. If the weather had been a little nicer it would have been a great area to hang out in the evening. We really enjoyed our weekend there. We would stay again if we were back in the area.

“What a nice little getaway place!” Dealing with Shirley was very easy and I appreciate her working with me on a last minute decision to rent a log home. A lot of house rentals want advance notice, and will not let you stay for only one evening, you have to book for 3 days minimum. Shirley's house worked great for a last minute get away for my girlfriends Birthday. The following day we got up and went sight seeing. Very nice quiet area to get away from your daily life! Would highly recommend Shirley and her Beautiful house.

“Relaxing and carefree” We had such a wonderful and memorable weekend. Very picturesque and ever so quiet when you're there mid season. There were wineries and breweries within a short driving distance, and the local restaurants are spot on. I would not suggest using GPS, it gets you in the vicinity but not to the right house. Thank goodness for pictures of the house. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful, but bring your own trash bags and sandwich bags etc. The master bath and bed is very nice. We loved the bed so much that we are buying a mattress exactly like it because we slept so well. My only other suggestion would be to have the house ready for arrival. The house was cold, and the entry way was not swept, I picked up a few pieces of trash laying around on the driveway, but I am a Manager of a very nice Boutique Hotel so I notice these small things. All in all it was so lovely and I would definitely stay again.

“Beautiful, extremely comfortable, would go back again!!!” My family and I stayed for 8 days and could not have asked for a more comfortable, clean well-built cabin to spend our vacation. The views were beautiful especially the sunrise in the morning over the deck. There were six of us, all adults, and the house was large enough that we all had our own space when needed. We were close to trout fishing, zip lining and water rafting. One of the things that stood out to me was the quality of the furnishings from the bedding, linens to all of the kitchen ware. The whole cabin has been decorated with taste and quality. My family enjoyed the hot tub every night. We grilled on the deck, made smores over the fire pit. It was truly a wonderful vacation that was made even more memorable by the cabin itself. I would definitely go back again and hope to!!!

“Home away from home” I own my own business, so any time away is especially precious. Kilkelly's West Wing Cottage was the perfect fit. Unlike the institutional feel of a hotel room, the West Wing is like a home away from home. Immediately, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with every possible item anyone would need, even a tea kettle and grill accessories for the gas grill. The commercial like ice maker was an unexpected surprise. They even provided a small cooler for day trips. Normally in a hotel room, I am loathe to touch anything and notice the dirt and traces of previous guests. Immediately you can see how clean and welcoming the West Wing is - I had no hesitation using any of the amenities. We are very picky travelers and the West Wing exceeded our expectations. The breakfast casserole was so good I even got the recipe! There are several televisions with satellite, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc - available but we never even turned them on. It was so relaxing enjoying the sunrise, sunset and mountain views, we had no need for the outside world. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend the West Wing! :)

“Perfect getaway” Is this edited version ok to put on the website? We just had the most relaxing time at Mountain Dream Cabins. We went with very little expectation as this was our first mountain getaway after moving to Charlotte 7 months ago. We absolutely loved it. The cabins are so you have a lot of privacy and we like that a lot. It was great to unwind and disconnect from the world for a short time. “The best of the best” I have been visiting and staying in rental places in Western NC for many years and the Kilkelly Cabin has no peer. The cabin is perfect and the views other worldly but the best part of the experience are the hosts. Joanie and Gary made sure our stay was more than we ever could have imagined. We celebrated my son's graduation from App St, my Mom's 80th birthday and Mother's Day all in one spectacular long weekend. It literally could not have been better. 5 stars are not nearly enough. “New River Ramble” This was a great time for the entire family. We attended the ASU football game, but until that time we enjoyed all the amenities of the home. “Beautiful Saddlebrook” I visited this home with 6 other women and we all loved it. This house is beautifully appointed with everything you need. The babbling creek is truly right next to the house and is so soothing. There was plenty of room and we were all very comfortable.
