7 Bedroom House 300 feet to the beach/ Ocean view on Hawaii North Shore

Hauula house

  • 7 bedrooms

“Home away From Home” If anyone is looking for a relaxing retreat, this is the place for you. The location of this property is quiet and yet is within close proximity of places such as Turtle Bay Resort (excellent golfing) and North Shore Sunset Beach and Haleiwa. The Bus even stops right in front on both sides of the street allowing one a cheap ride ($2.50) in either direction. Everything I needed was provided and the owner was quite approachable regarding any concerns or questions that I had. I would recommend this property to anyone that is looking less for luxury but more for a home away from home getaway.

“You will be very happy you stayed here” We are very experienced travelers and also rent our vacation home so have a perspective on both sides of this equation. We are a family of four with two teenage daughters (ages 14 and 13 at time of the stay). If you rent from Patty you will be very happy you made the decision. 1) Hosts - Patty was so welcoming, friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive. She was a wealth of knowledge and was so willing to share her insights to ensure we hit the best spots at the right times to ensure a great experience. 2) Apartment - The pictures are very accurate so you really get what you see. The apartment has very "homey" feeling. The decor is local and tasteful, the kitchen fully equipped. The Lanai had really nice breezes and sunrises. It also had hooks which came in handy when drying things. While we didn't watch much TV there were plenty of options (cable, netflix, pandora) as well as a small stereo system. There were games to play, books to read (including several on Hawaii that we loved), and the all-important washer/dryer. 3) The Stuff - One of the things we loved about the apartment was the plethora recreational toys at our disposal. Beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, snorkels, masks, coolers, sup's, Kayaks, bikes, etc. If you needed it, they had it which was huge for a family that spent everyday on the ridiculously nice beaches a short drive away. 4) The Location - Check it out on the map. It sits just above town in a neighborhood. It is not walking distance from the beach or town but a 5 minute drive (and free street parking) gets you there before you know it. It is walking distance to a great yoga co-op (Aloha Yoga Kula) which we went to several times and loved. Some may want to be closer to the action but we found the location close enough. All in all, this is a fantastic rental and we thought a great value. The personal touch offered by Patty puts it over the top. Do yourself a favor and book it before someone else does!

“"Lovely"” We stayed at Suite Aloha in September for 11 days. The room was spacious, airy and very comfortable. There was a huge ceiling fan to cool the entire room throughout the day and night. We were awakened by the sweet fragrance of plumeria as it floated through the windows every morning. Lovely! Sabine thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. We were welcomed with fresh fruit and a Beautiful arrangement of fresh Hawaiian flowers. There were beach items available for us to use including a beach umbrella, chairs, mats and beach bag. The location was ideal. We could easily walk to Kailua Beach or to Kailua town. Kailua town has plenty of upscale shops and restaurants. There was even a brand new Target there. We would definitely stay there again. It was lovely!

Punaluu Beach 1bd/1ba Condo, #401

Punaluu apartment

  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom

“Relaxing stay in Punalu'u” Our family stayed in condo #401, it was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The condo has everything you need and more. We had an incredible vacation. The condo has a gorgeous view of the ocean and a big, comfy balcony to sit on and enjoy the view! It's just a short walk across the lawn to the water. The condo itself is lovely and clean with a complete kitchen, not lacking anything a cook would need. We had a lot of meals in the condo and that helps too if you're on a special diet or just want to save on meals. The beds are very comfortable too! It's the perfect place for a family with kids to stay, everything you need is there, even a washer and dryer! Punalu'u is serene and beautiful. We plan on returning soon!

Cottage on the Beach, Romantic, Oahu North Shore Mokuleia (Licensed!)

Waialua cottage

  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom
  • sleeps 4

“The sound of the waves, right outside your door, are like a lull” We had a "rough time" getting here (mechanical problems with the plane, canceled flight, etc.) but the cottage soothed our tired souls! We found the drum of the waves to be the best lullaby and the fresh air and abundant sunshine to renew our spirits. We appreciated the personal art on the walls and the large open space. For folks who enjoy cooking with local produce, the well stocked kitchen, the large number of pots/pans/utensils, and the full sized refrigerator are perfect. There was plenty of hot water in the shower (and good water pressure!), the furniture was comfortable (brought back memories of beach houses from our childhood), and the large counter surface in the "dressing room" was perfect for all of our "stuff". We used the outdoor patio table for several breakfasts and dinners, watched a neighbor vacationer fish from the sea wall, and took daily walks on the nearly deserted beach. There were many informative books in the cottage along with maps, Dvds, etc. We used the guide books but were too busy enjoying Oahu to need any other form of entertainment! Although we have traveled extensively in the past few years, this was our first trip to Hawaii. We have already recommended the cottage to family and friends - thank you, Peter, for sharing your wonderful home.

Kahuku house

“Perfect Location... The "Real" Hawaii” Being from New Hampshire, Hale Malaekahana reminded me of a Lake House dropped on a perfect stretch of Hawaiian beach, close to the North Shore of Oahu. If you're looking for marble floors and granite counters, stay in Waikiki...if you want a true feel for the "Country" of Hawaii, grab a week or more at Hale Malaekahana!! The house and kitchen were very well equipped for anything that you would need, including surf boards, life jackets, beach chairs/mats, snorkel gear and a Webber Grill for grilling up some of the fresh caught fish that you can get from the locals. Forget about the pricey restaurants in Honolulu, experience the local garlic shrimp and Huli chicken along the route, you'll be glad you stayed up here!! Nothing more relaxing than falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking early to an awesome sunrise and coffee on the beach. Stan and Marcia ( although we didn't meet them personally) were very responsive to e-mails and calls during the booking process and our rental went off without a hitch. They even graciously accommodated our request for a late check-out on departure day as we had a late flight and we wanted to soak up every minute of Sun we could out front on the beach!!

About Hauula

With miles of sandy white beaches, an abundance of outdoor activities, and friendly and hospitable locals, the town of Hauula has everything you need for a fun and relaxing getaway.

Eat an authentic Hawaiian meal after sampling the designer shops and boutiques along Front Street, enjoy the water activities and crystal blue ocean of Hauula Beach, or take in the view from the comfort of your beachfront villa.

Be sure to make time for all of these main attractions and destinations of Hauula during your vacation:

  • Hauula Beach Park: Far removed from the crowds in the center of town, this beautiful piece of shore is a perfect escape to rest and recharge.
  • Polynesian Culture Center: Watch live dance shows and check out the exhibits celebrating the unique Polynesian heritage and culture found throughout the island of Maui.
  • Kualoa Ranch: Operating for over 160 years, the ranch has many outdoor activities to enjoy including nature trails and horseback riding.
  • Go Kayaking: Head out for a solo adventure or go with local guides who offer tours that fill you in on the history and traditions of the area.
  • Lance Fairly Gallery: The gallery has a wide range of pieces from some of the best artists both locally and throughout Maui.
  • Try the Local Cuisine: Papa Ole's Kitchen is the best restaurant in the area to try authentic and delicious Hawaiian food.

As the second most populated island in Hawaii, Maui has a number of big events and festivals to enjoy year-round, many of which are held just outside of Hauula. Watch the best golfers in the world compete at the Mercedes Championships in January, watch the fireworks and lion dances along Front Street during the Chinese New Year celebrations in February, or cheer on the runners from all over the world during the 37 mile race from sea level to the summit of Haleakala known as the Run to the Sun in March.

There are spacious and luxurious condos situated all throughout Hauula. Your vacation rental can be right next to the world famous beaches in the area or the rows of art galleries and other attractions in downtown. For a truly unique vacation experience, choose a condo surrounded by trees and lush grass in the more remote parts of town.

There are plenty of things to do in the Hauula area, but many visitors also use the town as a base to explore the rest of Maui. The rainforest in the northeastern part of Haleakala, the shoreline of Maalaea Bay, and the views of the West Maui Mountains in Ka'anapali can all be reached within two hours by car.
